Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Almost a full timetable for dd, but no large ensembles and tap kept in year groups rather than streamed by ability across all years.

Re: Guidelines for COVID 19for students

There is definitely no floor work or bare feet. The maximum for singing should be 15 with mitigation’s. The guidance actually says to use microphones if possible to avoid having to sing loudly. The risk assessment we’ve been said says no loud talking over music for the dance teachers. The latest res...

Re: Guidelines for COVID 19for students

My daughter was back in today and she was appalled at the lack of social distancing but it sounds nowhere near as bad as your dd kzgirl. There will be no performances this term. They are hoping to hold the grad showcase in February, subject to the ongoing situation. The college is following a mixtur...

Re: Bird Reserve List

I knew it. I just knew this was going to happen. I almost said to you a couple of months ago that this would happen. I wish I'd put a bet on it.

SO......... what is she going to do?

Re: Does being a boy give you a bigger advantage of getting into a 3 year musical theatre/dance courses?

You see I'd have willingly paid the higher price for a course capped at a reasonable class size.

100 students in a zoom class would be a total waste of money.

Re: Does being a boy give you a bigger advantage of getting into a 3 year musical theatre/dance courses?

I’ve got one of each.

It’s much easier for the boy on the whole. However his standard of dance is basic but he is the better singer. My daughter’s Standard of dance far, far exceeds that of her brother.

Re: Organisation of classes in Sept 2020

Has anyone's college mentioned how singing is to be handled at all as in guidance for schools and FE it says singing should not take place unless outdoors etc and all the research I have seen shows how unsafe singing is.

Re: Offers at 18 compared to offers at 16

The danger for some students turning down offers at 16 is that for many they are unable to access the amount and quality of training required to keep to audition standard. Going to college at 16 is often the only solution if you find that local schools don;t have the advanced classes available. Your...

Urdang Degree

Can anyone currently studying at Urdang on the degree, not diploma tell me about the optional summer show. I beleive there used to be a top up fee for degree students at Urdang which was abolished but the summer show is optional. In normal non covid circumstances would there be a charge for taking p...
