Hahahaha- Well i don't know what you lot are doing but i only just booked my return ticket to Edinburgh for 95 quid! Possibly because of young persons rail card? And seriousl...

Re: Accents
Hey- I happen to be the type of actress that takes a lot of pride in accents that I can do- and my american accent (generic/californian) is by far my best accent- and although being good at accents may not GET you more auditions or jobs- it certainly doesn't hurt. Especially, as there often are a lo...

Re: Scottish contacts! And Voice agent advice!
Can't help re. voice agents, but there was a thread about agents in Scotland recently ... might be worth a look: http://notapushymum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=20495&p=222447&hilit=scottish#p222447 To be honest, I don't think it matters where your agent is ... the important thing to...

Scottish contacts! And Voice agent advice!
Hello lovely people- long time since i've posted on here. I am finally going off to university- and i'm moving to Scotland! Woohoo! I've been trying to look at agents in Scotland- I've found one that I like the look of- but i always think its best to find out as much as you can about agents that are...

Re: Regrets
http://notapushymum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=16998 This is a link to something i posted a while ago. I am pursuing a career as a straight actress, and faced the dilemma of school over work when i was much younger. I thought you might like a read, sort of from the perspective of a child, who...

Re: NO auditions!
I had this exact problem when i was 13!! Its a nightmare. I ended up giving up, and just focussing on my theatre group and putting on shows with them until I was 16. Might be worth sticking it out until she's 16, and then when she is, really drive the agent to push for work, because its easier for C...

In need of a tutor!
Despite the fact that i got 100% in my practical drama exam at A level, i still managed to get a D in the written part of the exam. Despite the fact that i got an A in the mock.. for which i am blaming my drama teacher entirely. I find it bizarre that i could get an A in english lit.... Anyway, ill ...

Re: Ideas for A Level Theatre Studies devised piece?
I did mine by basing it on the short story 'The Yellow Wallpaper', and used physical theatre (so we werent just making a story into a play, it was more like an influence). Maybe look at some Angela Carter short stories.

Re: Mark Summers
And 20% commision is very high. Hmm. They look like they are trying to get more money out of you than investing in your talent. [-X I dont like agents who act more like a business than someone who is essentially working for you. But if people get good auditions etc, then its really your call if you ...

Re: Mark Summers
Congrats! 50 pounds to go on their website seems a bit iffy though. That would be something that would put me off straight away, seeing as you have to pay for Spotlight and Headshots which are all pretty pricey, and the fact that they will be taking commision off you anyway. Putting someone on a web...

Concerning the balance of school over working
Hello! I know that a lot of parents have inevitably gone through the torment of balancing school with working. Some of you may have chosen one or the other. I know for those of you who think it would be best to stick with school, this is a heartbreaking descision for you and your dd/ds. It can often...

Re: Has anyone had a callback for this?
this has been going on for yonks hasn't it - why has it taken so long ? can't believe they're still casting ? They changed casting directors a few times, and then it was postponed for a year! I suggested my friend for the part a year ago, and they said they would get back in contact the next year, ...
