Re: Youtube?

Hi Sophiesocks Thanks for your comments. With respect to his TV work - mostly we get sent a copy of it, either on a disc or via email, which we then took out the bits with him in. Any we didn't get we just recorded directly off the telly - probably not the best quality but better than not including ...

Re: Would you miss a holiday

Hi my ds was confirmed for this nearly two weeks ago. The company have already started the licencing procedure and we have received dates for performances etc. I believe they are looking for 3 sets of children so maybe that's why they are still auditioning. Good luck to all :D

Re: Youtube?

Have had a first attempt at a 'showreel' for my ds. Am fairly proud of it but very proud of him so decided to put a copy on youtube. Please check it out and let me know what you think. Will be submitting a shortened version (with only his latest work) to spotlight so would be grateful for any commen...

Re: Enders Game

Yes I agree - they might fly ! My ds got down to the last six boys for Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang and once again the parts went to established actors - Asa being one of them. I was told at the time how wonderful my ds had done and that he would definitely be remembered for any suitable roles. Of ...

Re: Absence from school for audition

Thanks for all your replies. DS been lucky enough to secure a number of roles etc so we are pretty ok with the licencing rules. My problem was the absence from school for his audition. Anyway - good news is I contacted the headteacher and explained the situation to her and what an amazing opportunit...

Re: Absence from school for audition

Once again thank you for all your replies - all extremely helpful. Well, I emailed the headteacher yesterday explaining the situation and apologising for the fact that this particular audition is in the middle of the day and asking her to authorise ds's absence from school. She said yes !!!!! So rel...

What is the situation if I ask permission from the school and they say no? Do I keep him off anyway and have it marked as unauthorised ?

Re: Absence from school for audition

Thanks all for your informative replies. DS attends many auditions and has never missed a day off school for these - always manage to get them arranged for after school. However, on this occasion it is a recall (original audition outside of school hours) and he needs to be there from 10.00 am for tw...
