Re: Has COVID changed your DC training/career plans?

Very interesting to hear about other people's dcs who we've been following longterm on here. Wishing everyone luck for the next 12 months. And fingers crossed for the whole industry. My ds went down the academic route after school and got a degree from Warwick Uni but has since done a dance diploma ...

Accommodation for Trinity Laban?

After 3 years at university (when I thought he was done with considering careers in performing arts) ds is off to Trinity Laban in September for a graduate diploma in dance. He is way down the priority list for accommodation in the halls, being a postgraduate student, so I'm wondering if anyone has ...

Re: Beauty and the Beast Panto Jokes

Can't think of any at the moment Cazzy-Lou but thought I'd just pop on the thread to say Hi and good luck! I'm writing a YA book that has a B&tB sort of story so if you get any good ones could I steal some please?

Have fun :D

Re: Best dancewear suppliers - older boy / young man sizes

Little mum it is incredibly hard to find dancewear shops that keep stock for boys/men. I doubt you'll find one but I hope I'm mistaken. I have been lucky a couple of times with Planet Dance in Batley (near Bradford/Leeds), but I would ring and check first. I usually do an Internet order. Beware the ...

Re: Auditioning for 2016

I wonder if they have had European students drop out since Brexit? Apparently that is happening in a lot of universities. I have no idea whether they normally attract international students to the GSA Musical Theatre degree though.

Re: Auditioning for 2016

Thanks carriecrafts. I think he's just having a normal worry but will probably get the grades. Even if he doesn't get the grades they might still offer the place. My middle DD got an offer from Oxford but narrowly missed the A Level result she needed - she phoned Oxford to ask whether they would wa...

Re: Auditioning for 2016

Ok I am very confused - Ds tells me that clearing places are now available to see and he was searching for courses that might be available if he misses his grades. Now GSA is showing both the Musical Theatre and Actor Musician BA courses. Why? Did everyone go off the musical theatre course because o...

Re: Embarrasing Parents - (not performing types)

I can recognise the difficulties you have had Paulears but I think the schools could have done more to prevent this. Our county runs dance evenings at a big theatre. Admittedly there aren't the sound issues. The parents have to buy tickets and turn up at the start without knowing the running order. ...

Re: confusion between different boards

I must be wrong about IDTA Adv foundation as it's listed on this page about UCAS points https://www.idta.co.uk/members-hub/qualifications/ucas-tariff-points/ And this page lists the RQF value of Intermediate, Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 https://www.idta.co.uk/members-hub/qualifications/ofqual-dcells-q...
