Performing at the London Palladium
My DD is working on her Higher Project Qualification and is writing about why the London Palladium is one of the world's most iconic theatres. Are there any DCs who have performed there who could write a quote for her saying what it was like and why they think the Palladium is such a special theatre...

Re: ISTD Exams & Lower Age Limits
Thank you for your reply 2dancersmum. All sorted now. I called ISTD and she's fine to take her exam. I was looking at the entry requirements for the old tap syllabus for which Adv 1 included teaching skills, hence the 16 yrs lower age limit.

ISTD Exams & Lower Age Limits
Does anyone know how strict the ISTD is about its lower age limits? My DD is supposed to be taking her Adv 1 Tap in the summer but she won't actually be 16 (the lower age limit) until October.

WEK:Experience Day
If you'd like to find out what it's like to be a West End Kid then take a look at the following: http://www.westendkids.co.uk/#!wek-experience-days/c20t8 This is not for the faint-hearted! WEK rehearsals are long (9 hrs) and tough going, but very rewarding. The WEK:Experience Day can also double-up ...

Re: west end kids
Hi Rmal, My DD has been with WEK for quite a long time so maybe I can help you with your question, although my answer may be slightly biased!! I would say that each term on average one or two kids gets straight in to the main WEK company, the rest are promoted from WEK:Training. This is for a number...

Re: What PA/dance schools can or do take children from 16?
Katymac, it's worth calling Italia Conti 01483 568070 and asking because I'm pretty sure the 3 yr course takes 16 year olds - but maybe now they are introducing the 2 yr BTEC this may change. They're very friendly at the Arts Centre and they also have plenty of flats in the immediate vicinity for st...

From Sept 2012 the Italia Conti Arts Centre in Guildford will be running a 2 year BTEC for 16-18 year olds with funding available. They also offer this course which combines performance and teacher training:
