Re: Into The Woods

I also loved Emily Blunt as the baker's wife. The 'Agony' scene was VERY familiar to me as it was filmed in a place I used to visit often as a child - Virginia Water in Surrey, it's a man made waterfall which I have walked across, climbed down to the caves in and watched my grandpa pretend to fall o...

Re: Charlie & Choc Factory

Actually this rings a bell with me as I can still remember being taken to a pantomime as a child where every time someone said, 'I couldn't care less!' they were turned into an animal! I had nightmares for weeks and that was 50 years ago!!!! So can totally sympathise with both your dds! Hopefully th...

Into The Woods

Saw this on Sunday - having just seen dd in her drama group's stage version in November it was really interesting to compare them! Film changes a few things from the stage show, (Disney dumbing down of a few undisneyesque parts ie the Princes having huge socks down their trousers for a start!) The e...

Re: Drama GCSE mark - anyone else think they are low?

My dd's drama group run GCSE drama courses and they said the marks were disappointing this year compared to last. Also dd did PA at school but was in a class of kids who either wanted to do Music OR Drama, but not both, so the performance was not great! She got A for the written work but only C for ...

Re: Would you cast a vote for Flo's song, please?

Thanks also to anyone who voted for Lucy, she didn't make top 10 either for the same reasons! I'm also not sure that her music really 'fits' the Australian scene which tends to be quite 'pop' whereas she's more along the teenage angst lines!

Re: The Arts are being threatened in our schools now :(

I have signed this a while ago and also written to my MP because this has directly affected my daughter already! Her school, lagging behind others in the league tables, decided to adopt the Ebacc curriculum in anticipation of it becoming 'law'. Because it's a church school. RE is also compulsory, wh...

Re: Would you cast a vote for Flo's song, please?

Hi Deb, I've been voting for Lucy on my PC and Flo from my mum's house, hehe, and they're both through, how cool is that!
Not been too well the last 2 weeks, endless migraines have meant using a PC has been impossible! So doing a bit of catching up.

Re: BRITAINS GOT TALENT 2013

Sounds like they have changed the application method. When my dd applied it was a very basic online form which didn't have any way to attach videos. Make sure you take water and plenty of snacks as there's not usually much available! Good luck and have fun.

Wow, only just seen this, thanks so much you guys! What would L do without you? 'Shame' has really done well this week being played here every day on BBC 3 counties radio and in Australia as well, she also sang it live tonight at a live acoustic night along with a cover of 'Wicked Game'. She has wri...

Re: Half Term Workshops Essex/London

To be fair to them, when they ran the first one in Harpenden, the age limit was 12 and the standard was amazing! Later on they ran more, which dd also attended, but when the age range was lowered to something like 7, the numbers got a bit too high, and the range was a little too large to really get t...

Huge thanks to all of you who voted for dd's song 'Love me back' in the September Stars of Tomorrow Top 20. She got to No 5, which is great!! They have just emailed to say her new song 'Shame' is in the October top 20. If you are on Facebook, and would like to vote, please click the link: https://ww...

Is the WEM still run by Michael Xavier and Lindsey Wise? They used to do them out our way (Harpenden) and dds LOVED them!
