Re: University VS Drama School?
If your main problem is the question of money, then you could consider going to drama school outside of London? I live in Birmingham which has much lower living costs than London, and the Birmingham School of Acting is pretty well looked upon, obviously its not up there with RADA and Central but it'...

Re: Would you miss a holiday
Have you asked them if they can reschedule? Because my agent once managed to reschedule an audition because I was on holiday, and that was a first audition, so you probably have quite a chance if it's a recall.

Re: Uni-versal extras
Ah okay, thanks Gypsy Mum! I was going to apply for their student section where you don't have to pay... but what other extras agencies would you recommend? I tried to sign up with the Casting Collective but their site seems to be down for maintenance :?

Uni-versal extras
Has anyone heard of/used the Uni-versal extras agency? The website looks legit, and their terms and conditions seem reasonable (no upfront fees, they take 15% of your fee) but I just want to see if anyone's had any experience with them before I give them my details!

Re: An Inspector Calls Audition advice
Haven't auditioned for the part but know the play, have you read it? At the beginning of the play, the daughter is essentially a vapid, self-centred young woman who has accepted her upper-class parents' capitalist ideas, but she ends up being the character who changes the most in the play - at the e...

Re: ALW Superstar Search
Anyone can apply for this there's a form online. I applied for this even though I'm a girl, just because I thought it would be funny, and now they've sent me an email asking me to tell them what songs I want to sing and to come down for an audition! Might go just for fun but it's all very strange!

Re: Agency 'meeting'
I would suggest that there is no harm in going along to the meeting - just make sure you ask all of the appropriate questions before you make any decisions. If it turns out that they aren't legit or just not right for you then there's no loss, it just at least gives you a chance to practice an agenc...

Re: Have I been dropped by my agent?!
Geordiegirl, you may be right about over 18s renewing themselves, but shouldn't my agent have reminded me? I'm still in the Young Performers section (it goes up to 20) so I would have expected her to tell me about changes to my membership considering she's always handled it before now... :? And than...

Have I been dropped by my agent?!
Hey NAPMers! Have a bit of a sticky situation on my hands. I've been thinking a lot recently about what I want to do about my agent now that I'm at University. Whilst Birmingham (where I now live) isn't so far away from London that I can't go to some castings, I really didn't want it to get in the w...

Re: Self Taping (again)
I'm 18 and I remember that I would never let my Mum read in parts for me - I was always too embarrassed! However I've found that it reeeally is better if you do have someone to read in; maybe advise him to find a theatrically minded friend to help, because if they've been through auditions themselve...

Airtime - short film
Anyone got an audition for this tomorrow? It's for a 17/18 year old girl.
