Re: Helping eachother?

mumamia - yes, all so over-whelming but Like others have said, children are amazing and can achieve so much with the support of loving parents like yourself. Very best wishes for the future.

Re: I need to talk about wigs for shows

My hair rant! Both of my dds are mixed race with big, bouncey, beautiful afros and I get fed up with having to force their hair into classical styles designed for European hair. I think stylists should work with the hair and not against it. No wonder so may olders girls straighten their hair and use...

Re: Tv advert buyout

In my experience, wardrobe fee is usually £50 no matter if you're there 10 minutes or the whole day. As for featured etc, you have to wait for the final cut. The "hero" is the main child, "featured" means you get a buy out too and background means blurred or body parts!

Re: Nativity 3 film

I think they saw every child in the country for Nativity 2! They had weeks of workshops at Sylvia Young. I remember a NAPM child was cast - a talented fellow who could play several instruments. Anyone know the theme? Is it street dancing this time?

Re: abacus agency?

Both of my DDs are with Abacus. I think they're great. They've been around a long time and have a good reputation. They have a select amount of children and they don't waste their time on a flash Internet site (which others do perhaps to lure in a large amount of clients?!) My children have regular ...

Re: Belonging to more than ONE agency

I agree with PG that it's best to have one agency working on your behalf. However, I know of a child who has 3 spotlight profiles because he/she's with different agents. I don't know how it works but the father reckons that the agencies get different work and if the child gets two castings via diffe...

I'm another fan of Colin Salmon though I think Idris would be far darker and broody. (I'm a fan of Chris Ecclestone's season.)

Re: Problem with agents

Livy Is there any chance that the director will back track and apologise? Or did he/she have a valid reason to "lose it" with the teenagers? There's no excuse for upsetting people but some times "creative types" are prone to tantrums and you shouldn't take it personally (though a...

Re: UDO Competitions

I've sent you a PM but it's stuck in my outbox so I guess it's not been sent - any ideas on how to nudge it on its way?

Re: UDO Competitions

Yes, we're off to Essex too. lo practising her routine but older DD likes to freestyle her moves. I've heard they're not supposed to do too many tricks but show their musicality. There's lots of links on youtube. Should be a fun day.

UDO Competitions

Hello

Anyone have any experience of UDO competitions? My DDs have entered as beginners in under 10s and under 6s. Are there lots per category? I imagine beginners is the biggest category. Do they have to do solos on their own or dance through rounds?

Many thanks

Re: DS Going To Miss His Prom

How about a drive round in a limo and then dinner at Nandos (choice of all youngsters it seems!)? Not sure where you live but I know there's lots of art house cinemas which offer private boxes etc... the Tricycle in Kilburn is lovely and Screen on the Green are great too. Or a local gig were they al...
