Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Hi there. Haven't been on here much in recent years, but DS is joining the 2022 entrants and we would be very grateful for some help/advice! He is in the fortunate position of having offers from Bird, Laine and London Studio Centre. We have done some homework and know people at some of the schools ...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

They just said 20 for each course, the lessons of dance etc are streamed across the 3 courses which does make it better, they didn’t mention (not that I heard) foundation. Does anyone know if you apply for BA but aren’t quite right would they offer you foundation? Or would you have had to apply for...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Hi, my DD is starting a degree at Mountview, but having difficulty getting a student bank account with Nationwide because Mountview does not have a UCAS reference. Anyone else come across this and found away round it? She chose Nationwide because she already banks with them. TIA When my DS started ...

Re: What size is First Year Diploma/Degree for the various colleges?

Laine is usually around 75 per year group. The current 2nd year is a bigger year with around 95 but the current 1st year is around 65-70.

In addition there are usually around 20ish on the foundation course.

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

For those waiting for Laine DADA results, I appreciate that this year is very different to previous years, but the year my DS joined (in line with previous years) the first results didn’t come out until the end of May from what I remember. He then had a letter that said he was #3 on their reserve li...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Of the 200 offered, I suspect many can only go if offered a DADA & many will go elsewhere as they will have multiple offers, so the year group will be around 85. The current 2nd years have around 95 and the first years have fewer.

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Hi! I'm a student going into training this September but I'm finding it so hard to decide between schools as I haven't been able to visit any except Urdang (I did their pre-audition course). :? I've got into London Studio Centre, Laines and Bird so far and am waiting to hear from Performers and I h...

If you are in Berkshire have you looked at Read College based in Reading? DS has a couple of friends who went there and have both been successful in moving onto great colleges.

I’ve just asked my DS who is at Laine and he said the girls are of varying heights including a few tall ones. So your DD doesn’t need to worry!

Re: Guidelines for COVID 19for students

Hello! I’m not surprised you are very worried! It sounds like your daughter’s Uni have made no effort at all. My DS is at Laine and they are doing ‘blended learning’. All singing, acting, voice and contextual classes will continue to be on Zoom. Dance classes have been set in bubbles of 5-7 students...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

It’s just one list for Laine but when the letters go out the top ones from the list will get offers and then everyone else will get a letter stating which number they are on the reserve list. Some who are offered a DADA will turn it down if they prefer somewhere else, or realise they can’t afford t...
