Asking for a friend.....
Can anyone tell me what the following terms mean, in terms of contracts for a film role?
Overage rate?
Free production day?
Free post production day?
Do you usually also get a few for costume fitting? Or is this included in the fee?
Thanks for any help you can give xx

We've also turned castings down. No point in wasting their time or yours if you're not comfortable with it.

Re: Talk to me about agencies - I'm clueless!
I think most agents are pretty similar when it comes down to it, but there are differences in things like - representing adults or children or both - specialties (ie. some have close ties with TV companies, represent dancers etc) - fees - number of clients represented - some have very few and others...

Re: Dumped due to Spotlight enquiry?
Sounds awful. Looks like you're better off without them. I'd ignore them and assume if they're dumping you then they won't mind giving up their notice period. Find someone new ASAP.

Re: Just interested - general hit rate from submissions/cast
I'd say 25 opportunities in the past few months is phenomenal. We have much fewer than that, I couldn't even guess our rate but probably nearer around one solid opportunity/month, which suits us fine as we have to balance time out of school, working full time and managing a sibling so they don't get...

Re: How to get an agent
There are lots of threads already on this site which I think you'll find useful. I think it's really about finding ones you like and speaking to them about your daughter and perhaps sending them a self tape or show reel or attending their auditions.there isn't (in my experience) much more to it than...

Re: Harry Potter coming to West End
Am I right in thinking there are 2 different HP things on the go together? On a new movie and one a stage play?

My DD was with TT for a while. A really nice agency with friendly staff and great castings.

Re: School
I think it really depends on the school. I have friends whose kids are always out of school with no problems, but we had a letter home from the attendance officer even when my daughter was on licence to perform. I think you should be honest with the school and also speak to the agency about what you...

That's very true lol
Perhaps admin can move the thread?
Not sure any auditions are announced yet. I'm not even sure they will have any kids in it........

Re: Living in London
I think you need to be honest too. There would be nothing worse than getting cast and then finding your school won't sign the form or your local authority won't authorise. Often the distance thing is related to ensuring the children still get enough schooling and of course, being able to be called i...

Re: Harry Potter coming to West End
That's what I thought too. Not sure it's going to use children. It's also a play not a musical, which I'm actually pleased about. Just hope they can make it child friendly enough to take the kids to see it.
