Re: Monologue help!
Hi My daughters recently had success with a modern piece by Eleanor McCleod called The Porridge Trauma Incident It's really a modern day take on the Goldilocks fable but set on a cruise ship and really quite funny. Got her a good distinction in LAMDA a first in Arts Festival...and I don't think it's...

Re: To do dance at GCSE or not?
Hi There We asked dds dance teachers (at her dance school and her academic school) the same question and they both basically said it would be a total waste of time taking GSCE dance. As she has reached Grade 6 in her RAD Ballet and Grade 4 in NATD Tap &Modern i am told that she has already excee...

Re: Casting Website-Membership not approved?
Thanks for your replies. She has got a fairly decent CV so don't think it will be that...but the need to complete one of their workshops is quite possibly it. Don't think we'll bother though TBH. Does it usually take long to hear back if you apply for a casting?

Casting Website-Membership not approved?
On behalf of my dd i joined The Casting Website on a months trial (£20) Have fully uploaded her profile but its still showing as an unapproved membership? Initially i thought the photos were being approved and that was the delay (although they're good enough for Spotlight!) but after 3 weeks its sti...

Re: From a casting director
Hi there Tikka it was interesting to hear you mention UCAS points. I can't quite understand their value as it seems some uni's don't recognise them at all....am i right? My DD has a fair old collection of these gained through LAMDA & RAD exams. Shes only 12 so not likely to need them for a while...

Re: Darning Pointe Shoes
Hi
Another option is to buy Gaynor Mindens. Theyre expensive but dont require any darning or stick on pads...very, very smart to look at. I'm told most professional use them nowadays. The downside is you have to look around a bit for stockists....

Re: London Hotels
Hi There
We often use lastminute.com and opt for their secret hotel. You wont know exactly which one it is but its usually fairly easy to guess cos of its nearest tube station. We've never had a bad one. Its also worth trying ebay....some real bargains x

Re: Doctors letters
Crikey...that must be incredibly frustrating (never mind expensive!) They aren't necessary in my area as a simple declaration of health signed by a parent is all the council require. But please have a little empathy with GPs too. It might seem expensive but they can be absolutely inundated with requ...

Re: Making the right decision at YR8?????
Hi There I'm no expert on this as both my DDs at comp's but i do have a good friend whose son is at the local grammar. They are very supportive of him attending auditions etc and as the classes are much smaller he gets enough individual attention to quickly catch up.Lots of state schools are stubbor...
