Re: Brown and Mills
I would also be interested to hear if anyone has experience with this agency? Or even just if anyone more knowledgeable than me would be willing to share their opinion based on their impression of the website? http://brownandmills.co.uk/ Thanks!

Re: Should we give up?
Hello again everyone :) Thank you so much for all those replies and advice, it is so appreciated. Dd has decided not to throw the towel in just yet and is back in the saddle again. She was having a particularly off day when I posted this - three rejection emails within a couple of hours which was ra...

Should we give up?
Dd has been applying to agents for almost 4 years, and she has received rejection after rejection after rejection and is starting to loose hope all together. We've heard from so many people (not just family!) that she is so talented, and yet all these rejections seem to suggest otherwise. So in all ...

Re: Different Haircut To My Headshots
Okay, thank you very much pg & IrishDancer, I thought as much! Dd didn't go with a fringe in the end and has decided to get it cut back in towards the end of the year and then get new photos. Probably the best decision!

Different Haircut To My Headshots
Hi :) I got my new headshots taken at the beginning of March, but tomorrow I am getting my haircut and I'm just wondering if I basically have to stick to the same style/length as in my photos. I only get my haircut about twice a year so when I do go I generally like to have a bit of a change to make...

Olivia Coleman? I think she's tremendous. I watched Tyrannosaur the other night [gulp]. Welshmum , her comment reminds me of this bit from "Extras" "How do I act so well?" http://www.myspace.com/video/brad/sir-ian-mckellen-explains-quot-acting-quot-on-extras/3147733 See, it's ea...

Good grief, 3000?
Surely it can't be that many!?

Re: Not sure if the job is paid or not!?
Slightly delayed response here, but I just thought I'd drag this thread back to its original purpose! Thank you so much everyone for the detailed and helpful advice and comments, it is very much appreciated! I did email dd's agent in the end and was told that it was indeed paid at a pretty decent (m...

Re: LUMINO FILMS - COMEDY TV PILOT
DD has just applied for this, although she didn't send a monologue. Was it on the website that you had to in order to be considered for an audition? If so we must have missed that part!
Hopefully it won't matter too much..

Re: Not sure if the job is paid or not!?
Okay, thank you for the advice everyone, I will send them an email to double check the conditions (thank you for that wording Flosmum!) I didn't want to ask too many questions at the availability check stage because it was only the second one we've ever had! The first one the pay was mentioned...

Re: Not sure if the job is paid or not!?
Thank you Deb and francescasmum for your replies! I did think it wasn't very likely they would be sending her to unpaid job too, although the thing that made me wonder was the fact that the shoot is for a charity. Do you think that makes a difference? I'm slightly worried about coming across as comp...

Not sure if the job is paid or not!?
My dd has her first job modelling next week, which is not something either of us really know anything about, so I was wondering if a few more experienced people could share their knowledge!? Basically she had a call from the agent to check availability, and then the next day an email with the call t...

It seems Mark Jermin only want people with tv/film credits now
Strange as they didn't always. Not seen an "open" audition workshop for them for a long while now...

Re: How long to wait to hear back?
Thank you pg that is all very helpful to know! If 2 weeks is considered to be 'promptly' then I can at least stop worrying why I'm not hearing back as quickly as I previously have! I don't have a showreel, so this is maybe part of the problem. Putting one together seems a bit daunting as I've not he...
