Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Sending all the best to all the parents going through this with your kids. It’s a never ending roller coaster.. First it’s getting a place at a drama school that you hope for. Then it’s the placing within classes and grading. Then it’s who gets what in the final shows. Then it’s a battle for the rig...

Re: When you are too tall for theatre... where do you go? Screen??

Hi, you probably know far more by now but I suggest you don’t think only of short term childhood opportunities that he is too tall for. Concentrate on his training and improving his dance. Being passionate about music and continuing with that will help as well and allow future opportunities. In the...

Re: Offers at 18 compared to offers at 16

My son is just finishing up his first year at ArtsEd on the degree pathway. He spent his sixth form at Emil Dale, well he did the old AS levels. He started his A levels and was so unhappy it was quite heartbreaking. He saw his friends at PA colleges full time improving and felt he was stagnant. He s...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

hi all dd has received an offer for the BA Hons at Arts ED and is obviously over the moon. does anyone know how student finance works here - it s not entirely clear from the website I note that you can apply for a student loan to cover part of the fees - leaving approximately a £9k shortfall? does ...

Re: Auditioning and 18th birthday celebrations

It’s not always all over by Easter, so many variables and differences in colleges. Plus you haven’t said which ones you are looking at. Why don’t you postpone the NYC trip and go and celebrate once offers come in and she can relax properly? We didn’t plan anything when DS was auditioning for college...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Can’t recommend EDA enough!
Really never wanted to be letting my son go off at just gone 16 but I can’t tell you how pleased we are that the decision was made.
What a 6th form!
Fantastic!

Me too
If I log in during a work break on my mainframe it’s permanently banned.
Not too much of an issue but wondered why.
Admin is on a retreat at the moment but I’m sure she will take a look then she’s back.

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Hi all, hoping you lovely people can help! My DS is hoping to train in MT from 2020 he's 16 so is looking at either the 6th form route followed by degree or the Trinity Diploma. He is a very strong singer and a good actor but never formally trained in dance. Although not a natural dancer, he can mo...

Re: Best time to apply for Sept 2020

My DS applied for the earliest ones he could Mainly because he gets a few heavy colds over winter so if he was ill, there was half a chance of being able to rebook onto a later date. I can certainly recommend applying for early dates for Arts Ed, they accept and offer as each audition date happens, ...

Re: Spirit or Stagebox ?

Thank you Riverdancefan. I probably shouldn’t have named kids, apologies if I made you or anyone else uncomfortable. I think the easiest way to explain things is that with the audition only workshops the students generally audition to join them and then audition again for the solos. No problem at a...

Hi Rose20 From your comment 'Hi, I have known a quite a lot of kids get solo’s who were not regular kids' Really? The amazing talent you have named were or became regulars though surely? Im talking about the one off kids, from outside of commutable distance, who are invited to workshop via audition...
