Re: How to be seen for more TV/Film Castings?

Thanks riverdancefan! I guess it just gets frustrating when you feel that there's nothing more you can do - but I knew full well that there's no garuntees in this industry, so it's to be expected! Fingers crossed :)

How to be seen for more TV/Film Castings?

Hi Guys, I'm a young actor with a playing age of 16-20 - and the last 8 months have been terrible audition-wise. I have an agent (who I know works hard for me), and about 6 months ago, invested in some great new headshots and put a decent showreel together. I'm also on Spotlight, a member of Equity,...

The difference between a screen audition and a theatre one?

Hey guys,

So I'm pretty comfortable with TV/Film and Commercial castings, but I might have a theatre audition coming up and I don't know what to expect! Is it a similar format and what is usually different? Also, are you always expected to sing? As this is not a strong point of mine!

Commercial agents?

Hi guys,

I have a meeting with a commercial agent this week, could someone please tell me how these differ to a standard agent? Would I have to look for a theatrical agent as well as these if I do sign?

Cheers!

Re: Spotlight (again)

Hi, I'm pretty sure if you have an agent, they should be submitting you for anything that you'd be suitable for, although some do give you the option to 'nudge' them if you come across any roles that you are particularly interested in to remind them to submit you for them, although not all agents li...

Re: Getting auditions from Spotlight

Thankyou for your reply, yes I have an agent and have had some good, paid jobs before joining Spotlight - most of which I've found myself. Really appreciate the info you've given me - It's been a long, hard slog just to get on Spotlight, so it's been a bit of a milestone, but now I'm on there, it's ...

Getting auditions from Spotlight

Hi guys. I recently became a member of Spotlight and was wondering if anyone has any insights on a few things. From other sites such as CastingCallPro, StarNow, Mandy, etc, I have a pretty good rate at getting auditions for things I apply for - do you find that you are similarly successful from Spot...

Agencies and Spotlight

Hi everyone, Although I've recently had a few castings (usually through sources such as screenterrier), I am not a member of Spotlight as I didn't go to uni to study acting so am not eligible, which makes finding an agent who would take me seriously difficult. I was just wondering if there are any d...

Re: Audition help

Hey guys, thanks a lot for your answers and sorry for the late reply, my laptop died on me last weekend! Jellybabies it was for Hollyoaks, not heard back though so i'm guessing I didn't get it if filming is next week, hope yours went well!

Audition help

Hi guys. I have an audition tomorrow for a reccuring part in a Bristish-soap. I was given two different script scene 'sides' on Friday but have been working full time all weekend, so although I am familiar with them, I have not been able to memorise them. I was just wondering if its acceptable to ho...

Re: Advice regarding Spotlight?

Thankyou so much for such a detailed reply. I'm already on Casting Call Pro and subscribe to CastWeb but will definately look into your suggestions. I guess Spotlight need to have high requirements to ensure that no time-wasters are considered for projects. I'd love to do a MA in acting but the cour...

Advice regarding Spotlight?

Hi there. I'm 21 and have just graduated University studying Science. I was pressurised to study a 'real' topic by my parents, although my plan was always to go into acting. I'm aware that without a Spotlight membership, your chances of paid work are pretty much minimal. I have had acting classes in...

Yeah I think they must have hired somewhere for audition space, how did you find your experience with them?

RBAPA Agency

Hi there,

I have an audition in London next weekend for the RBAPA (Royal Berkshire academy of performing arts) agency and I was just wondering if anyone else has any experience with them?

All the best,
