Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

After recalls and interview for the BA at ArtsEd my dd was placed on reserve which is fantastic because she is only 17. They said they hope to be able to let her know for certain whether she will have a place by July. Does anyone know what the chances are of the being offered a place off reserve? Do...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

My DD is through to the interview stage for Arts Ed for the BA Hons. Does anyone know what to expect?
I'm wondering whether it's an informal get to know you or whether they will ask about any previous training and experience.

Sponsorship / Patrons

Has anyone ever looked into getting sponsorship or patrons to part fund training that could offer any advice?

I've read a few things recommending this as a way to reduce fees.

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

DD (16) has 3 offers on the table so far and still to hear from 3 others for 2021 intake which is fantastic. Two of her offers are 3 year diplomas (ROM Theatre Arts and Liverpool Theatre School) but her preferred college is Bird and she auditioned for the L6 diploma there too. She's received an ema...

Plastisine Theatre Company

Does anyone have any experience with Plastisine Theatre company? Particularly their centre of excellence that you audition for. They are opening a new school by us and I just wondered what they're like.

Re: Short film auditioning - safety advice please

Assuming you are under 16, you need to have your parents onside then are best to register on the likes of StarNow etc.. but a parent will have to authorise and run the account for you. We have not yet been asked to a house to audition but have been asked for video auditions or to attend a public bui...

Re: Casting query: am clueless!

To be honest Sunshine1973, I have found that the waiting does get a little easier as you get used to it. My dd and I now tend to try and look at each audition as more experience gained and afterwards try to think nothing more of it and expect nothing too so on those occasions when that call comes th...

Sophies's Fortune

My dd was recently cast as Sophie in a short film called Sophie's Fortune. She loved every minute of filming and made lots of friends along the way :D She got the job thanks to one of the kind mums on here who put a post up regarding the castings. \:D/ The trailer for the film has just been released...

Re: Kccp and Agent!

I would just check with your agent to be on the safe side but I'm able to arrange auditions etc.. for my dd. If she receives any 'paid' work though I have to inform the agency as they still receive a % of the earnings. Most short films tend to be unpaid or expenses only so you should be ok. Good luc...

Re: Question about Bypass the feature film...

No, this audition was legit as hubbard casting were running auditions. The auditions were late last year so they should be well into reviewing all those that have auditioned. I know some people who have auditioned for parts in the feature film. I think people need to be careful on star now as many ...

I just wanted to let you know that following the video audition our dd was cast as the lead in the short film and she filmed it last weekend :D \:D/ \:D/ She loved every minute of it and received some great feedback. We can't wait to see the finished film now. Thank you to everyone for your advice :D
