Re: When to call it a day...?

Thanks for the replies, it's always good to hear that we're not the only ones who've been in this position. We've had the official invitation to renew DD's contract with the agency now but I've declined. As she's on Spotlight (and will be for the next year+) they've offered to represent her through ...

Re: Miss Saigon back in London from 2014

Tickets are on sale now! I love Miss Saigon, saw it a few times as a teenager/student and played the tenor sax. parts many a time in youth orchestra/wind bands. Sadly for me, the producers and CDs haven't been in touch so my career as Ellen or principal saxophone is probably never going to happen :-...

Re: When to call it a day...?

Since posting, DD has auditioned for another TV series so opportunities are coming her way, it's just hard to know if we're barking up the wrong tree!

Re: When to call it a day...?

Thanks PG. There is an annual charge of £60 for maintenance/hosting/admin of the child's web page. The only other cost is Spotlight which is an optional extra.

When to call it a day...?

I have a bit of a dilemma and wondered if any of you have found yourselves in a similar situation... DD is nearly 9, has been with a brilliant agency for two years but still has yet to get a job through them. She's attended castings for a few adverts and stills shoots and auditioned for a musical an...

Re: Agencies passing on fees

DD has been to a few castings for commercials and has received a casting fee once, from M&S. We'd actually been told it was an unpaid casting but, months later, she received approx. £18 for going along. It wasn't a recall/pencil/anything.

Re: London Children's Ballet?

Thank you both for your replies. I'd tried looking around the balletco forum but haven't got the hang of navigating it  The EYB looks good too...shame that I only found out about today i.e. the day of this year's auditions. Oh well, DD is only 8 so I'll bear it in mind for the next 10 years (i...

London Children's Ballet?

I've had a bit of a look around the board to see if there's any recent discussion about the LCB and haven't found anything....yet! DD is 8, has been doing ballet for a year and has just passed her RAD grade 1 with a distinction. Although she loves anything musical theatre related and performs well o...

Re: Star now

Flosmum, DD2 has blonde hair that is, in her own words, "wild like a lion" and we've recently discovered Mini U busy bees leave in conditioner. It's put on after her hair has been washed (for which we tend to use paraben-free conditioner instead of shampoo) and smeared/combed through. No b...

Re: Best agency annual awards

I'd like to nominate Bonnie & Betty for general responsiveness - Bonnie and Gemma often respond to e-mails/tweets within nanoseconds...and are very good at handholding newcomers.

Re: Jo Hawes Feb Masterclass London

My DD is going!
Confirmation and venue details came through on Tuesday for us but we received another e-mail this afternoon mentioning that some people hadn't received theirs.
I'm hoping that the Chinese New Year celebrations/parade doesn't render the whole of the area un-walkable [-o<
