Re: Elephant in the room
I have had experience of Hammond and Bird and seen lots of both shows. I would say Hammonds MT attracts some fantastic singers and the school is becoming very well known with agents. Birds dance level is outstanding but Hammond voices are excellent. The recent Miss Siagon which Hammond put on was ex...

Re: auditions for full time dance schools
Hi Robin 64, My DD went to vocational school at 11 and she has grown up with other kids that did the same. She is still 15 and will probably go to London in sept if she wins a dada. She can't wait and truely feels she needs to be in London for her career. I suppose the kids at vocational school have...

Re: auditions for full time dance schools
Hi Robin 64, I am new to this site also. My daughter has been down the route of vocational school but has decided dance and musical theatre is more for her than ballet and so few make it anyway into ballet companies. We will be auditioning at Bird in April and will be able to tell you more. It has b...

Re: auditions for full time dance schools
No funding auditions i think beginning of May and end of April. Not all schools seem to be doing recalls some seem to go on your first audition and use this info to allocate dadas in the Spring. Its a shame if you don't get funding for the school you really want to go too. but it's tough for any you...

Re: auditions for full time dance schools
Hi, Thanks for that. I didn't know dadas were handed out so quickly but that would explain why someone we know was offered a place but no funding in a letter recently. DD has been to vocational school so has had no problem living away and loves it. I have a feeling she will love Bird.

Re: auditions for full time dance schools
Hi Felixgirl,
She has always liked Laine but it depends where she gets funding. Recalls are April and May. Do Bird actually tell you on the day or in a letter? Is it a Dada that your daughter was awarded or different funding . Sounds like a great place to train but we haven't seen it as yet.

Re: auditions for full time dance schools

We are due to go to Bird soon ,then recalls for funding auditions, and then the massive wait to see if she has won a dada. Well done to the lady whos daughter has already got fund...
