having gone through the process of applying and auditioning this year, I think you have to btake account of the costs involved which with travel soon mounts up. I reckon we spent around £1500 this year, and luckily it paid off with DS getting into Mountview. I am no expert on it but certainly use th...
Hi all. Our DS didn't get into CSSD so its MV for september!! He has made a decision based on the fact that the employment statistics on completion are very favourable and the DaDA also helps.
This may sound negative, but you also have to consider the situation that should you not get into a drama school, it may be best to look at A Levels rather than a Btec as it may give an individual a more rounded list of qualifications. I may be old fashioned here but I do work in FE college and have...
No news yet, but it may take a few days. Having spent a bit of time around the area, I did like the feel of CSSD and very handy for tube etc, so it will be high on his favourites list. But like most auditions/ interviews you never quite know what they are looking for. If its a no, i think MV will be...
Hi all. DS now completed all of his auditions for the year and did extremely well, with only Bristol old Vic not giving him a recall out of the 7 he actually went for (didnt go to Laban or LIPA in the end). Typically it was his first audition so it did bring us all down to earth. I must admit I am p...
Good points from welshmum and pg, I suppose the agents must get the info from the schools on who to look out for too. I'm looking forward having a look around cssd on Monday, so let's see how DS goes on.
I have been reading the showcases and I reckon some of these places take on far too many for eveyone to have a fair shot at promoting themselves and surely class size is going to be a key factor. CSSD only had 16 in their showcase cast against 40+ at RB and MV.
It's the BA acting -musical theatre course, we go back Monday afternoon hopefully it's his final audition and it will mean choosing out of three offers!
