Re: permission refused. is head mistress being unreasonable?
I feel for you, such a shame yet another head teacher not supporting performing kids. It all seems to be about the attendance levels for the school rather than the amazing opportunities the children have. It is such a lottery as to whether a school will support a child and is very disheartening when...

Re: Having 2 agents!!!!!
Depends if the 2 agencies get different briefs I guess and if they are not sole agencies. I know a few people who are with more than 1 agency (non sole) and seems ok for them, don't think i'd pay high fees though as a lot of the briefs will be the same. Also can be a problem if both agents are submi...

Re: Kccp security problems?
I thought long and hard about replying to the original OP, sadly everyone knows BK have a real bee in there bonnet about KCCP and other casting sites and their previous ongoing tweets about them. Also BK themselves are not highly regarded to say the least by anyone who has a clue about this business...

Re: Kccp security problems?
Sadly there is a big security issue with KCCP. As the kids profiles are open to view by any unregistered person a disturbing website found KCCP and copied the link to the KCCP site on their website as a good place to find young actors. Other members of the said site then perused through and copied s...

Re: Advice about starnow/agent problem
A large amount of kids with agencies have KCCP and starnow accounts and yours is the 1st agency iv'e seen to have a problem with it. I certainly wouldn't unsubscribe to them - as you say youv'e had 2 castings in 14 months so your agent is hardly keeping you busy. These sites are great for finding jo...

Advice about tutoring on set
Can someone tell me what the criteria is for clients to provide a tutor on set. I thought if kids were filming for 3 consecutive days then a tutor had to be provided, however having spoken to other parents whos children have filmed as extras for 3 days, a lot of them have said there wasn't a tutor?

Re: license forms
Sadly doctors can charge whatever they like for a letter, wev'e been lucky and had ours free. Some schools will happily sign part 3 of the license (our primary did) which is great. New Secondary won't so have to get permission each time which is going to be far more difficult as you have no access t...

Re: Agencies passing on fees
Hard to say as some don't have a casting fee. Wev'e had about 15 castings for various modelling/tvc's and 1 film and all but 3 had a fee, we havent had any tv castings though so have no idea about them, and i'm guessing theatre ones arent paid either? The fee doesnt cover travel costs (well not mine...

Re: Agencies passing on fees
Most castings have a casting fee, it's not much normally about £18 after agency commission. If there isn't a fee for the casting our agency tells us before we go. Iv'e only been to 3 that haven't paid. Maybe your agency is the one I read about on here that doesn't pass on casting fees CatKat?

Re: Audition we didn't apply to ?
Wev'e had a few requests like this, I think it's quite common. DS did a short film recently which they contacted us directly for.
I'd agree with Irrelevants comment, check them out and see what you think

Re: Any other mums of ballet boys out there?
My son is 10 and does tap and modern now, but did his grade 2 ballet exam when he was 7 and then gave it up as he thought ballet was boring. Which I can understand as he only did it for a term and it was all exam practise which is very repetetive, I think if he'd carried on after the exam he would h...

Re: which northern agency?
On the whole you will find all northern agencies are quieter than London as there are less jobs in the North, and a lot of London agencies will only take you on if youre within reasonable distance to London. Bobe do 50/50 acting/modelling and is just starting out so will need to fill there books fro...
