Katymac, think it very much depends which center you child attends, my daughter went to the Place for 5 years, there main concern was how much contemporary and ballet she did, agree that they did not like them performing or competing unless it was with a youth dance company like Hampshire Dance. Depending on what level the course is at Arts Ed you can get funding as for a degree, I know of 17/18 year olds who have done the foundation course at Bodyworks who then do not receive offers when applying the following year. Bodyworks like to ask 16 year girls to do the foundation coure as they see...

Have you contacted them to see if they have any other funding options, I know Stella Mann have seprate scholarships for boys.

MADS are music and dance scheme they fund scholarships to Royal Ballet school, Elhurst school, Tring Park, Hammond and the Centres for Advanced Training.

Do not think that the schools/colleges knew any thing until very recently and are waiting to be told more information from the goverment. Independent Ballet Wales are a small ballet company that tour national, do a search then check out under education, my dd has applied to do a week at end of July, she attended a couple of years ago.
