Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

I agree with the others about keeping an open mind. When my DD was doing the audition rounds she knew exactly where she wanted to go and where she definitely didn't want to go. Used the one she didn't want to go to as an early audition for experience. In the end the one she hated the one she thought...

Re: Bird Reserve List

I would think it is a gesture due to the exceptional and awful situation those students are in. That must include those already half way through their degree and those who were due to start in September. If DD's friend gets in she may have to start from Year 1 - despite having completed two years a...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

The senior partner has refused saying it is not a vital service when seeing patients is currently their priority. We offered to pay and they said that money wasn't the issue. So now she is having to complete a subject access request to get a copy of her medical notes emailed to us which Bird say th...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Has anyone managed to get a medical form signed by their GP? We took the one for my dd from Bird to ours and they went sign it. Said it is not something they would do. Any ideas??? When we did ours, we filled it out, the Doctor stamped and signed it then charged us £30 for completing the form! All ...

Re: Bird Reserve List

Take it! She would be mad not to. However we now need to get out of a flat contract and college contract!!! Coingratulations - she'll love it at Bird Good luck with the contract - Performers should be OK - they can only keep your deposit if they don't full the space! It was bodyworks 1 year course ...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

I am wondering if a lot of people may be hanging on to more than one offer to see which colleges go back and in what form in sept. I know some have suggested a mix of zoom and hopefully socially distanced, smaller groups. This may mean we get some news on what can happen in sept people give up othe...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Hi, Can anyone give me any advice, my dd is starting at Bird in Sept, we haven’t received the enrolment pack yet but can anyone advise about typical prices for private medical insurance? Is this what’s recommenced? Also do they need to register with a gp while there, if so will that be in the enrol...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Hello everyone, after some advice on what to do next as In a bit of a quandry! DD has been lucky enough to get a place at Chichester on the Triple Threat degree course, and has turned down offers from MTA and LCM. She has now also been offered a foundation course at mountview. In current circumstan...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Maybe there will be some movement on the reserve lists as offers on UCAS have to be finalised today. They withdrew offers on UCAS a while back for a lot on the reserve list as part the UCAS process but said not to worry. Apparently they will put you back on if you get offered. It freaked us out whe...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Sounds like you had a nightmare with your host family - They're not all bad. At least I hope we're not. We rent out a room to a student each year (and have done for 4 years now) and always include food, wi-fi, use of washing machine the lot - I just don't understand how anyone can have a student liv...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

I think it's all unexpected expenses on top, food, going out the train fare coming home. Mine stayed with a host for £100 per week which included food, washing, everything, term time only in her 2nd year as first year host didn't include anything except wifi so we moved her out. We underestimated ex...
