I second EDA, excellent but intense training and I’m really impressed with the student support!

Re: To do A levels or not

My DS went to PA college and did a Diploma at age 17 with no A levels - went on to his first professional job then COVID struck and is now at UAL doing a Degree in Film so I definitely think that A levels are not the be all and end all. My DD is going to do a BTEC in MT this September I also feel th...

Re: To do A levels or not

My DS went to a PA school in London to do a level 6 diploma at 17 with just GCSEs - graduated at 20 went straight into a UK tour, when Covid hit he applied and got into a Uni (UAL) and is now studying Film. Diplomas can have as much standing as A levels I feel, my DD is going to do a BTEC sixth form...

Re: Panto rehershals with Jordan Productions

Hi. My dd did a panto with Jordan productions a few years back. They were a great company to work with, very caring to their juveniles. If I remember correctly the rehearsal period was quite intense. Two weeks solid after school and weekends just before opening. I think you’ll find the company very ...

Re: Urdang Recall

My ds is at Urdang in his 2nd year. In the first year everyone does the about the same amount of dance classes although streamed and it is full on, usually 2 or 3 95min classes a day along with various singing and acting classes. The standard is incredibly high (I watched a few in house videos) watc...

Re: What do people mean by "scholarships" for performing arts courses?

May be worth being honest too, my ds was asked at his audition if he could afford full fees, he said no - and was offered a scholarship :D (could have backfired though)

Re: Full time training 11-16... Italia Conti, Sylvia Young

My dd is at full time PA school, she was really sporty, very academic, offered 2 scholarships elsewhere plus place in a grammar school but turned them down and loves it 100%. My ds had the same opportunity but didn't take it and regrets it a little now. Pm me if you've any questions. A hard decision!

Re: Auditioning for 2017

Thank you so much for bringing this point up, so true we couldn't apply for a DADA for my ds as no point as our income was going onto the limit but they don't take our outgoings into account - we have two children going into performing arts, and we haven't even started paying our mortgage yet as our ...
