Re: Best Scottish Agencies?
Real People Casting would be the best ones to go for, if they like the look of your DD they will invite her in to a meeting they hold once a month.

I like the post re the last pointers been for the Parents as well :-) Nothing worse than No shows to blacklist an agent and the rest of the kids on the books!

Might be worth looking at Broad acting and The Drama Mob. I have seen Purple Giraffe kids get some nice TV jobs :-) Have you tried Hero Talent?

Re: Nickelodeon Casting
Our agent said for projects in the next 6 months so 2 months of the 6 already down. I know of 3 others recalled (4 now with your DD) and not heard anything so don't know if thats good or bad. Lets hope Good and there's still hope!

Re: Tax for a performing child
As far as I am aware once HMRC have got their claws into your child you'll have to fill out a Self Assessment Tax Return by end of Jan every year, even if you are under the £10600 / £11000 :-(

Re: Tax for a performing child
Well done to your DS. It is usually stated on Agency contracts that you are responsible for all tax/NI payments etc etc as you are hired on a self employed basis. Don't forget there's a lot of things you can use to offset tax, claim against travel fares, office expense, phone and worth speaking to y...

Re: Agencies in the north east
Very quiet in the North East so tell her not to be glued to her phone! You could try Tyne Tees for modelling or Expedite, NE14 or Fox casting for acting.

Re: SCREAM or smaller agency?
My DS was with Mark Jermin and we found them great, plenty of castings North and South for everything from TV commercials to stage, film and TV. Very personable, always rang with castings. I liked the two workshops a year they had to see the kids and how they had changed and any new hobbies/interest...

Re: International licences
Hmm, think it depends where you live and who is processing the licence. My DS lost a £10,000 buyout EA sports commercial because we couldn't licence in time ](*,) Our local police didn't have a clue what they were supposed to do with form so it wasn't sorted in time. Hope it is being processed by on...

Re: Agency Fee/Cut/Percentage
Was it modelling or TV work? Some agencies seem to charge mega commission on modelling work so not surprised if that. Most agents are around 20-25% for TV work but some are as low as 15%. Also depends if a long term contract you should be able to negotiate lower than one off job? Sorry you had a nas...
