HaveRe: Auditioning for 2016
Hi Silvery Moon I can definitely recommend Urdang Foundation course as my DD had a very enjoyable ( although also exhausting and intense) and successful year there Sept 2014 . She is now in her 1st year at London Studio Centre. She also had offers including dada's for Italia Conti, Bodyworks and Per...

Re: September 2015
My DD is having a great time at LSC.Teachers are great and lots of opportunity to get involved in dance projects after college which my DD loves. Very busy but a lot less stressful than foundation year. Nice to hear how others are getting on.

Re: Evolution college foundation course
My DD also went for an audition there in Spring 2014 and was offered a place. We were extremely impressed with Jackie Tapsell's enthusiasm and dedication. She seemed very knowledgeable and only offers places if she is pretty certain that she will be able to help secure a 3 year place for the student...

Re: Pre audition courses
My DD did Urdang pre-audition week and found it extremely useful as we knew very little about auditioning. The course helped with audition etiquette, how to present yourself etc and also with how to find suitable monologues and songs for auditions. They went through typical audition routines so that...

Re: September 2015
That's a hard decision! My DD is going to LSC and is really looking forward to it so I am sure she would have a great time there. However she did a foundation/prevoc at Urdang last year and had an amazing year and improved her dancing so much. Don't rule out sticking with the prevoc as my DD thinks ...

Re: Musical Theatre Foundation Year
I would say the course is a dance based musical theatre foundation. There is a good amount of singing and acting training on the course and the 3 year diploma has a strand for singers who are not so strong at dancing. Students on the degree course are expected to be equally good at dancing, singing ...

Re: Musical Theatre Foundation Year
My DD has just completed a foundation year at Urdang and it was worth every penny. This year she gained a Dada place at Italia Conti, a Dada at Cambridge Bodyworks, a place at Performers and a degree at London Studio Centre. She has chosen to do the degree at Studios. I can wholeheartedly recommend ...

Re: September 2015
Joemill My DD is going to London Studio Centre. It looks like a good course for her because they have several different strands to the course, ballet, musical theatre, jazz and contemporary. Her main love is musical theatre/jazz but she also enjoys contemporary so is looking forward to those classes...

Re: September 2015
Does anyone think we can expect news of reserve places and funding this week? My DD has a firm offer from LSC but is also on reserve list for a Dada from Performers so we can't settle on accommodation yet.

Re: Chester House Student Accomodation - Sept 2015 intake
Me and DD stayed a night at Chester house on Tuesday night as we were in London for 2 days. Alison showed us round and was very friendly and helpful. Everywhere was very clean tidy and organised. Excellent communal facilities. The rooms were standard student rooms but again spotlessly clean. Showers...

Re: September 2015
My son has been offered places on degree courses in MT at Mountview and Trinity Laban. Can anyone give me any information on the Trinity course or which has the better reputation? Thank you. I think TrinityLaban is a dance and music conservative with 2 separate parts. Laban is an excellent contempo...

Re: LSC accomodation
Black Swan I wouldn't worry too much about the 40 minute bus journey. My DD has been at Urdang on the foundation course and lived a handy 10 minute bus ride away. However she found it very tiring getting back at 6.30 ish ,having danced all day, to go shopping cook for herself and clear up. She did e...
