International student funding

Hi all, my DS has been offered a place at the American Academy of Dramatic Art (only auditioned on the off chance). Does anyone know any organisations that offer grants/scholarships? Help!

Re: Ray Kinghts Application

My advice would be to 'go for it'. You have nothing to lose, and the exams will be over in the summer anyway. It shows you are keen, practical, forward thinking and you've taken on board their advice. They won't be annoyed at all. My son is a September baby and he did exactly that In Year 11 and got...

Re: agencies ages 16-18

Hi, my son was 16 when he joined Jackie Palmer's in High Wycombe. We live in South Lincs but as long as we were able to turn up to an audition on time, wherever it was, it was fine. If you haven't got one already, get hold of a copy of the latest edition of Contacts which has a list of agencies and ...

Re: September 2015

We paid the deposit for the Foundation course at Oxford School of Drama last November. Under our Ts&Cs we'll get a full refund less £50 admin if we withdraw to go to another drama school before 30 June. After that we lose the deposit unless the school can fill the place. At the bottom was the se...

Re: Auditions during school time

It's tricky. I've always tried to be open with the school to keep them quiet  The last request was last year for 3 days on an advert and I spent nearly a week negotiating my son's time off at school. I got there in the end and thankfully his grades were good so there was no argument to be had t...

Re: September 2015

Thanks jaybeeyellow, that would make sense to me. We were thrown by the fact that one person had received a phone call confirming her place and we hadn't heard anything, and so far RADA have always been very quick to turn things round. My DS already has an offer of a place on the Foundation Course a...

Re: September 2015

Hi all, does anyone know how long it generally takes between a RADA recall and confirmation as to whether you've been successful or not? My DS went to the final RADA foundation recall at the beginning of March and hasn't heard anything since. No one else seems to have heard either, except for one pe...
