Bristol Old Vic to stop offerring undergraduate courses
I know it's been quiet on here lately and there was always more MT students than straight acting ones, but wondering if others have seen this regarding Bristol Old Vic? https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2025/jan/07/bristol-old-vic-theatre-drama-school-stops-undergraduate-courses Not entirely sure I'...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
Hello everyone, I am curious to know if any dc’s have registered with a new gp practice when they moved out. I had a quick look and there’s a few that accept new patients, should we select one that’s within close proximity to the school? I was thinking there’s no point choosing one close to the hal...

Re: Acting 6th form
Not sure I'm convinced that for an acting degree they are (just) looking for potential and talent, maybe if your DC has a USP and/or is an under-represented category but acting degrees at drama school can be difficult to get onto especially straight from sixth form, for a start they have few fewer s...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
I would agree that things are still moving at this time. 3 years ago my DD turned down a degree offer at what was then a lesser known school in favour of a foundation elsewhere at the beginning of August when they contacted her (we lost £500 deposit, so be careful of that one, thankfully we hadn't ...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
Do/did any dc’s go to the RCS in Glasgow? I would be curious to hear of any experiences. Dd has her final recall next week and although was not really considering it when she applied thinking she won’t get this close, she’s starting to warm at the idea of the possibility of going there if she gets ...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
2 years ago when my DD got recall for IC foundation she found out late March (am sure of date cos it was her birthday and we were having a meal out) and then her actual audition date was 1st June. She did find out outcome following day though (a yes which she subsequently rejected in favour of elsew...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
So, today an offer for GSA Foundation, the dream college, which she has wanted since she was 13! So decision time… the BA at Rose Bruford, American Theatre Arts, or the Foundation MT at GSA and go through this again next year, bearing in mind she’s already had a year out. At least she’s going somew...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
My daughter was offered PPA acting foundation then changed to degree in 2021. She had auditioned online due to the lockdowns and accepted without visiting because that wasn't possible. When she later attended the open day she didn't think it was the right fit for her so when a last minute offer cam...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
Yes this. It took me a while to get my head round it but auditioning for drama school isn't the same as being in a dance/drama comp. It's not just whoever performs the monologue the best 'wins' the place. The skill set and type are taken into account too. It’s a tough one isn’t it?! The job market’...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
Someone at my DD's college was offered a place last week from the reserve list. I wonder how that happens when they haven’t done all their recalls yet? I imagine once they see someone they know they want they offer them the place. They will know who has been selected for the rest of the recalls - t...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
Has anyone heard if there has been any offers from GSA MT reserve list as yet? My DC is waiting and curious to know if there has been any offers / no's yet? Your question is probably answered in post above yours by Harry2003. I suspect you cross posted and missed. For reference my DD last year, the...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
K8t- tell her not to be demoralised. It took mine 3 years to get onto a degree. She did 2 foundations first. Last year despite getting closer than ever before with 3rd/final rounds from very prestigious schools she had no offers. On her very last day of her 2nd foundation when they were doing 2 perf...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
Does anyone know much about IAB in Barcelona? DD added to her applications without knowing a huge amount about it .. now she has an offer for the BA In MT. She’s been offered a callback for MV Foundation .. and has round 2 at Italia Conti tomorrow. IAB looks legit and she is doing A level Spanish s...
