Re: Opportunities while in College - Favouritism

That sounds like dreadful behaviour. I didn’t see the post you’re referring to but how was the performer identified on another forum?
This forum is very helpful and supportive but I guess we have to be mindful that it’s public and anything we say can be repeated or reproduced

Re: MTA confirms it's closing

Sounds like it’s a fantastic place to train. Circumstances leading to its closure are very unfortunate.
There have been so many issues lately with racism etc in certain colleges and yet they’re all still operating.
Makes you wonder really

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

It’s a shame really .
I hadn’t really heard of it before my dc started at another college . It sounds amazing and if we were starting over I would encourage them to audition there

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

For anyone still on waiting lists or not sorted for MT training to start this year, theMTA hasn't filled all of their 22 spaces yet and will be auditioning in July and possibly August depending on availability. Auditions are free ( deposit returned on attendance). Superb 2 year training. Majority o...

Arts Ed Principal has resigned following external investigation

Just saw this on The Stage website . The article is too long to share fully but here’s part of it “Arts Ex principal Chris Hocking has resigned following an external investigation into allegations of serious misconduct at the drama school, which the board has acknowledged were the result of “a misgu...

Re: MTA college closing

Sad to hear but great they’ve got funding for current students . The principal used to post on here and she sounded really great . What put me off was the cost and the fact that the courses weren’t accredited by an independent body . Not necessarily essential once they prepare you to a high standard...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Today daughter has had an offer from Read college for their foundation course. Only 10 spaces on it. She's having a think about it because she does have a degree offer elsewhere and she'd rather not go through another year of self tape auditioning. I totally understand her viewpoint. Daughter got f...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Yes MT diploma - think everything is moving to Guildford in September ? There’s normally an MT Diploma course run in both Barbican and Guildford . Not sure about this year . The entire 3 campuses were due to move to a purpose built campus in Woking in Sept 2021 but that’s been deferred for another ...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

Thanks that reassuring - presume they also mix with the BA cohort too? Just have to work out if it's affordable now! Is it MT diploma? If so they are based either on the Guildford or Barbican campus. The degree is in Barbican . Groups not currently allowed to mix but I imagine this will change in S...

Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry

We have opposite concern in that DD is 19 and offered diploma at IC but will she be training with 16 year olds rather than her own age group? Anyone else got diploma offers in older age group or experience of diploma at Conti? The 1st year diploma at IC has a wide range of ages from 16 -19/20 . Bes...

What a disaster for performing arts students having to go online until at least mid Feb . I guess they were lucky to have a relatively normal autumn term

? Uncertainty re college resumption in Sept 2020

I’ve just seen that Cambridge University has cancelled all face to face lectures for the next academic year . It will all be done online . Remains to be seen how many more will follow. Has anyone received any information about what’s likely to happen with dance colleges? I wonder if it will be a com...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Congratulations to everyone who has recently received offers . My dd received another offer last week . She wasn’t entitled to apply for a DaDa but received an offer of a scholarship to one college That would cover most of her fees . It came out of the blue and I can’t name the college as they said ...
