Drama school accreditation/ rankings
It is becoming clear that DD (year 11) wants to go to drama school rather than university after college. She will be looking at straight acting rather than musical theatre. She already has her sights set on the usual suspects, but I'm well aware that it is incredibly competitive. Beyond the very fam...

Re: Agencies and working/Tagmin help
I would think that most young actors 17 and up have part-time jobs to support their acting so wouldn't worry about it too much. That said, I think most castings are in the week rather than weekend so it won't be a problem. And unless you definitely wouldn't be able to swap shifts or take paid/ unpai...

Re: Nitty gritty of finding an agent at nearly 16
Thanks for your advice, I'll pass it on to DD and suggest she does some more digging!
Re: NYT
I think it mentioned mid-May for National Youth Theatre this year, even later!
From their website:
Already Auditioned?
We’re sending out results to all applicants via email by mid-May.

Re: Nitty gritty of finding an agent at nearly 16
Thanks for sharing your experiences Brighter. Including the reasons why she would want a particular agent in her cover letter might be tricky-what kinds of reasons are there? Do you mean the type of actors they represent? Or the size of the agency? It seems quite hard to work out the differences fro...

Re: Agent or Drama School
That is so exciting! I've no useful information I'm afraid just wanted to add my congratulations. It sounds like now is her time -I'd definitely grab those screen acting opportunities with both hands!

Nitty gritty of finding an agent at nearly 16
I've spent quite a lot of time looking through all the posts on this section but can't quite find the specific answers I'm looking for- can anyone with experience of agencies for teens nearly out of licensing age help me? My daughter is trying to find an agent for her. She will come out of licensing...

Thanks Freda, I thought that might be the case.

Re: New KM Casting for 16 year olds
Has anyone heard any more news? Or know approx. how many people were seen for this? I'm interested to understand how things work for (hopefully) future castings. For these kind of auditions/ casting director is it normally 100's that are seen first- and how many would usually be recalled? I've had a...
