Re: GSA axes courses
I feel so very sorry for students who have accepted places on these courses only to find they’ve been axed so late in the ucas calendar. Are there any thoughts on whether this will impact the acting or MT courses? I’m thinking that either GSA might try to pick up some of these students rather than l...

Can I ask if anyone has any experience of the reserve list for the BA Acting course at GSA?

Re: What's on Stage article
Thanks for the link, as you say it’s very interesting to see the schools the article has chosen to focus on. I wonder if there was a charge for being included! Interesting list yet I have to say a cynical comment. I think you'll find that most of the colleges named have been nominated for Stage Sch...

Re: London college of music
This hasn't been on our radar, but I see they have a straight acting course, so will mention it to DD who will be auditioning for 2019.
So much really helpful information here.

Re: What to do with academic Dd?!
Our very academic DD joined Tring Park for sixth form. Whereas previously she was at school all day then performing in the evening and weekends, she now condenses 3 academic A levels into the morning and has vocational studies all afternoon. It’s long days, but everyone is doing the same so she feel...

Re: Understanding the Funding Options for 18+
Thanks for all the input. It’s really helpful.
Interesting to hear that help with rent via housing benefit is available.
Is this for foundation courses only? Or any private BA course?

Understanding the Funding Options for 18+
I've just spent the afternoon trying to understand what financial help is available at 18+ for full-time Acting courses. From what I can understand, some courses are run through universities and so you get the full student loan for the tuition fees of >£9,250, plus a maintenance loan, the actual amo...

Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018
At 16 living at home and accessing great training would be perfect. Sadly that’s that’s not always possible.
And so some of us have to spend money now that we would prefer to save for when they’re 18.
