Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
Hopefully we all know where our children are going, or not going, but has anyone heard from unis re equipment list? DD is off to GSA, but apart from hearing she has her preferred accommodation - not where - we have nothing else by way of what she might need in the way of dance stuff/books, no commu...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
So just when we thought things were all sorted my DC called me from Norway today to tell me they had just received an offer from Mountview for Actor Muso! So we have gone from being on 3 reserve lists to having 3 offers as Conti also offered them foundation. Now it’s decision time - do we stick wit...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
Ah that’s great news! The hold out was worth the wait. Didn’t get offer from RB here, now holding out for Guildhall decision next week. The last hope. Hope your daughter has a fab time in Sidcup, now go get that accommodation sorted! Sorry to hear that LizzieBee 😔. Keeping everything crossed your d...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
Apparently DD informs me she is not going to any recalls. She is going to accept GSA Foundation. I thought she may do the IC MT/Acting one for BA, but she met some graduates today from IC , who expressed concern over the new course - no idea quite what, but as GSA is her ‘dream’ she’s accepting it....

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
GSA were looking for 22 students for the MT degree so I assume it will be similar for the acting degree. As for costs of extra lessons, my DS did a tumbling course the first term he was there and I thought it was very cheap, can’t remember exactly but cheaper than if he were to do it outside of GSA ...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
I have to say, the waiting is awful! She had her audition for GSA back in February. I think she’s aware if she does take GSA there’s no guarantees and the thought of doing this a third year!!! Ahhh. But the campus is wonderful, and it’s a great experience, training somewhere like that, even if it’s...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
So, today an offer for GSA Foundation, the dream college, which she has wanted since she was 13! So decision time… the BA at Rose Bruford, American Theatre Arts, or the Foundation MT at GSA and go through this again next year, bearing in mind she’s already had a year out. At least she’s going somew...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
Yes this. It took me a while to get my head round it but auditioning for drama school isn't the same as being in a dance/drama comp. It's not just whoever performs the monologue the best 'wins' the place. The skill set and type are taken into account too. It’s a tough one isn’t it?! The job market’...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
Has anyone heard if there has been any offers from GSA MT reserve list as yet? My DC is waiting and curious to know if there has been any offers / no's yet? Someone at my DD's college was offered a place last week from the reserve list. I wonder how that happens when they haven’t done all their rec...

Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
Well done on all the offers, such a relief. Meanwhile we’re still waiting on GSA. Italia Conti emailed to say that there would be an outcome (on self tape) soon. Nothing from RB despite her emailing them to check if they had her application. Today is a PPA audition, she’s gone in totally flat - it’...
