Re: New Thread for actual destinations!!

Hello Katy,
I will kick off then. My DD is doing the 3 year Diploma in Musical Theatre at PPA in Guildford. She did the 1 year intensive foundation in MT there last year and made fab progress as well as having a brilliant time so she is delighted to have been offered a place on the Diploma course. :D

Re: Child website?

Crikey Riverdancefan - You are really on the ball! That's something that it never occurred to me to do! Our children might be glad to own the right to their website names whatever field they go into. What an interesting present that could be. :)
How do you do it and what does it cost?

Re: Contemporary Theatre and Performance Degree at Crewe (MM

It is clearly very broad, and I think that they like to reward an ethical approach as well as quality of training. This year Arts Ed were runners up to Chicken Shed - Both fabulous schools in very different ways!

Re: Contemporary Theatre and Performance Degree at Crewe (MM

But PG, Have you seen how short the accredited list is for undergraduate MT? GSA, Arts Ed, Mountview and Central! That's it! Not even Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. There are many other fabulous schools out there who have brilliant teachers, long contact hours and a great record of getting student...

Re: DaDa Funding for 2013-14

If we try to remove ourselves from our performing arts bubbles it is very difficult to argue. Do we want all PA courses to be degrees? Universities then need to be involved and they are likely to require an academic element. Also, some universities will object to the contact hours that these courses...

Re: Merrily We Roll Along

I love it! One of my favourite Sondheim shows (and I do LOVE Sondheim!) The story is told backwards starting in the 1970s and going back to the 1950s. Each scene is linked by the ensemble singing the title song and the years of the previous and following scene. I think the Young Frank usually has a ...

Wow! Lots of fab news on here today! Congrats to everyone celebrating and fingers tightly crossed for all of our DC who are still auditioning or waiting for results. [-o<

Dance and Smile - Your news has worried me. Those bursaries are most needed by families for whom £75 is a lot of money. :(

Re: Auditions: cuts and recalls/2nd Auditions

Sorry to hear about GSA Dorothy. Just goes to show how fine the line is between getting the recall and not. Was the first round really short like last year? I think that makes it even more of a lottery.
Good luck with final auditions and results.

Re: Lots of luck to all auditionees! & a place to put result

I've just had a look on their website at the headshots of the 2014 graduates. I cant really see a pattern or an Arts Ed look - slightly more boys than girls and more brunette girls than blonde ones. The trouble is we are trying to analyse and make sense of a crazy world. ](*,)

Re: Lots of luck to all auditionees! & a place to put result

Hi Kitkat, My DD was there on Monday and had a similar experience. She felt that it had gone really well and she had done herself justice but was not recalled. The numbers are just crazy aren't they? I have no idea what they are looking for with so much talent out there. DD said that they hadn't pic...
