Re: How much is Health Insurance & which companies?

Our dd was on husbands work BUPA and this was accepted by school (ballet school which insisted on private healthcare) although we had to check it included MRI scans etc and show proof of this to school. Over four years we had many £1000s worth of claims unfortunately and we didn't even have to pay f...

Re: Charlie & Choc Factory

Livy2 are your dds teachers aware of her fears so that they will be understanding and deal with it appropriately if a situation does arise. When one of my dds was quite young we had a series of bad behaviour problems at school which were finally resolved when the problem was found to be her reluctan...

Re: Please show your support to one little very brave girl

It was as a result of this post that I started following Claudia's Cause and have been so touched by this family's love and devotion to each other so I was extremely saddened to read this morning that Claudia lost her battle for life today. RIP Claudia and much love and prayers to her wonderful fami...

Re: Musical Theatre BTEC vs A-Levels

She is applying to local holiday parks to do voluntary work next summer because it will mean learning another aspect of working with dance. Dance is all there is While this is very admirable on your daughter's part I would just like to point out that it may be detrimental to her (and others) future...

Re: leotards for Laines audition. For the ballet class a classical (plain) leotard is essential. Miss Laine always watches the ballet and is very specific about uniform - no fancy leotards/hairstyles, no jewelery (even small stud earings), no nailvarnish etc. This was stressed to us on the audition ...

Re: Poor DD is all post virally-so no dancing-how will we co

So sorry to hear this but tell her not to fret about missing dancing. She must concentrate on her health and get well first. The Royal Ballet's Lauren Cuthbertson didn't dance for over a year due to glandular fever/ME but by taking things slowly she is now back dancing principal roles. see http://ww...

Re: Time off school refused?

Possibly too late to be of help but I have found in the past that one of the reasons schools won't authorise time-off is because of the pressure over attendance statistics. Some schools get round this by marking the absence as 'educated off-site' which doesn't count as an absence!

Re: Can anyone help on payments for child in a film

Possibly a good idea to contact a few agencies. One will probably take him on straight away as he will be earning immediately. I know it seems a little unfair that they will then take a percentage of his income without actually getting him the part but they will negioiate the best deal and your frie...

Re: Magic Age of 16

Livy2 you do realise that altough your dd turns 16 next december she will still need licencing until the last friday in June of the following year which is the official school leaving day for year 11s. Not sure if this will change at all with the new requirement to stay in eduation to 17 or 18.

Re: So frustrated for DD

I m concerned at reading the first target listed - turnout should always come from the hip and therefore be carried through the entire leg. If the feet are turned out to a differing degree from the hip it creates stress particually in the knee and will undoubtedly cause injury in time. Turnout is vi...

website with details of roles in musicals

Some time ago I remember a user asking for details about a certain part in a musical and they were referred to a really good site which gave a brief synopsis of the story, character breakdowns and singing ranges for main parts. I wanted to look up a few things but just can't remember what the site w...
