Re: A Bit Political
I can only speak for my department and we are delivering a service with no and I mean no resources other than frontline staff. We have had an enormous impact on our local community and in a recent Ofsted were classed as Excellent. Any money we have we raise and in fact my staff & I have raised m...

Re: A Bit Political
I must point out that my initial post was about the effect the number of redundancies and non appointment of local government jobs (and the knock on effect this will have) would have on an already overwhelmed welfare state. Me personally does not matter, in fact bring it on I could do with a lovely ...

Re: A Bit Political
I absolutely agree welshmum, I have a dd who will be going to Uni next year and it is frightening the amount of debt she will incur. I am a single mum with no other income other than my salary so maybe if I am made redundant DD will get a better deal? As I say, I will be a benefit reciever and not c...

Re: A Bit Political
I think it is vital to debate this issue and cannot believe the experiences you are having in your and your DS work. So my question is, if all these departments, staff, charities etc., are having their funding cut and subsequently those staff joining the unemployment line, where is the money coming ...

A Bit Political
So if this gets deleted sorry  . I can't be the only one on this site who works for local government and is under threat of redundancy. My local authority is looking for between 30 -50% cuts over 4 years and my particular dept has been put into the first round of cuts. Now I'm no mathematician...

Re: Shrek
Ipswich to London is just over an hour by train and 88 miles away. The thing is, it's probably quicker doing this than trying to drive 40 miles on the M25. Why on earth do casting agencies think we live in the dark ages with no transport for us local yokels (oooh ahh, oooh aah, etc.,) As it is DS is...

Re: How do you manage to.....
OOOH if I had the money I would have gone to every single performance and sat in the best possible seat because its a part of my DS's life and I don't want to miss it. What bugs me is if the theatre is not full why can't they offer a free ticket to a parent who does it hurt?

Re: Should under 18s be paid for panto?
Of course under 18's should be paid for a professional panto. But they don't have to pay as they know children will work for nothing except the experience they gain. This needs to change and if there was a union for children it would. My DS played Michael in Peter Pan and loved every minute of it bu...
