Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Our wait is over DD has a degree offer at Conti which she is delighted. She will do her PPA audition next week as they are coming to her college to run the audition, but will be accepting the Conti place. So we’re done. Congrats! I'm really glad she had some good news! My dd has a recall at Conti b...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

No but she's only done 2 so far- waiting on Italia Conti foundation tapes and arts ed in a few weeks. She is doing 4 A levels at a normal school with all the dance classes/singing/MT training on top so was very aware that time to audition and prepare tapes was limited so she's fully expecting to hav...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Has anyone heard back from GSA? Info says we would hear within 4 weeks if selected for a recall and we haven’t heard yet. Others on DDs college PA course are also waiting to hear. My dd heard after about 5 or 6 weeks- it was a no- tapes watched multiple times over that period, her friends applied l...

Well done to those who have had offers- brilliant news!! My dd the same, thought she was sorted but has since changed songs multiple times! I think she is getting there now though and starting to apply. Best of luck everyone!

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Hi all, My dd is trying to finish her ucas application and she is trying to put in her dance exams. Does anyone know for ISTD vocational whether it is National Tap or Stage Branch tap as she has to pick one of these! Any ideas, her certificate just says Tap Dance! Thanks all :) I see someone has re...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

It will be my daughters turn this year too! Not sure I've posted on here since Charlie and Choc Factory auditions! She's firmly set on 2 but is still only 16 so is happy to do a foundation year if needed after A levels. Will be fantastic to have the support of this forum! Although it's still a while...

Re: Dance question

I've had loads of students who have 'made it' as straight actors without any dance training whatsoever. MT is a totally different kettle of fish. If he hates dance, he would be better off learning accents, reading plays and enjoying live theatre so he can get as many ideas for improv as poss. Best o...

Re: KM Casting 11-16 year olds

Crikey! It’s finding the time to learn the script we struggled with! What with that and finding a song he can play and sing to with his ever lowering voice it got a bit tricky! Luckily we had no singing to do. :D I'm sure if it had been snowing where we are she'd much rather go sledging too so good...

Our self tape was done all in one take in 15mins in the midst of the most manic weekend ever, so I'm really not too hopeful either!!! :?

Re: Are we going in the right track

My DD is a similar age and I have the same worries as she is so keen on doing MT in the future-she has been involved in literally show after show from the age of 6 and does 12 hours dance/gymnastics a week but recently I have really been encouraging her to just have fun, chill out and enjoy being a ...

One of my students has got into one of the projects that starts 2 weeks before she starts her A level exams and she is going to have to leave school early and take her exams at another centre if she wants to take part fitting in rehearsals around her exams which seems crazy! It does seem odd that th...

Re: Dance confusion - please help!

I'm not really sure about what grades he needs (if any) but I have students who have got into Bird, Central, Laban and the MTA and they have all done A levels with a smaller BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Performing Arts( equivalent to 1 A level.) They didn't do the full BTEC worth 3 A levels and they g...
