Flosmom, you've not mentioned your dd's age? Generally speaking it is fairly unusual in the UK for girls to start on pointe before the age of 12 or 13. By that age they would probably need to be doing several ballet classes a week, and to start with they might only spend 5 minutes or so at the end o...

Re: Not sure exams are legitimate?

I agree with what the other poster said about the atmosphere at the school, after all, you are the paying customer, and at the moment you aren't happy :( There is a forum dedicated to ballet called balletcoforum.com (sorry, don't know how to do a link) and you might be able to find out some more on ...

Re: Dance East CAT

Hi, she's 14 and ballet is her main thing, I think. Maybe we will go to the open day and get a feel of the place.

Are the groups split on age or contemporary standard then? She does do contemporary, but I wouldn't say it was her favourite, she is really hoping to go down the classical route.

Dance East CAT

Hi there, is there anyone who can give me information about the level of the ballet classes on the Dance East CAT programme? I spoke to a helpful lady on the phone, but she wasn't really able to tell me anything other than there are 5 groups, set by ballet/contemporary standard, but couldn't really ...
