Re: Few Questions

Hi there! If you're under 18 (or it may even be under 21 I'm not sure) then the only way to be on spotlight is if you have an agent or are part of a performing arts school (e.g. Italia conti etc.). So sorry, a BTEC doesn't count!

Re: The other child casting

Hi guys, loads of people have PMd me but I'm afraid I really don't know much about it because I got the audition through my agent. The breakdown made it sound like they would take auditions from people without agents but my agent didn't send me any of the contact details. All I know is that you have...

Re: Going to Uni, what to do about my agent?

I don't think it would matter at Uni, becasue you're allowed to have a part-time job (like in the evenings or at weekends and stuff) so surely this would just be counted as a part-time job?

Re: Going to Uni, what to do about my agent?

Well I obviously wouldn't want to have to miss too much at Uni, but also I'm wondering whether it's worth paying for Spotlight for another year and also paying for trains back and fgorth, cos I won't have much spare cash as a student! But I suppose I could just stay with my agent and only come down ...

Going to Uni, what to do about my agent?

Hi! So basically, I'm in year 13 (doing my A-Levels in June) and if I get the right grades then I will hopefully be going to Birmingham Uni next year or else my back up which is Leeds. At the moment I live in London and have a London based agent, but I was wondering, is it at all worth staying with ...

The other child casting

Hi guys :) Just wondering did anyone else get asked to send in a video for a TV film called The Other Child? I was just wondering cos it's another one like the Sally Potter casting where you have to film a scene at home (and also an improvisation) and i don't think I'm very good at those, so was jus...

Re: Advice please Re- Student films

It probably means that he'll get a copy of the film, though it may only be a digital copy. The BFI is the British Film Insitiute and has a centre on the Southbank where they show lots of low budget/indie films, so your son will probably get to go and see it when it is shown at the BFI, and credit ba...

Re: Monologue For Teen

Hi! I just turned 18, and I recently did this monologue from 'Confusions' by Alan Ayckbourn. The character is a young student who is seeking advice about her abusive boyfriend. I had to cut it down quite a bit to get it to be 1 minute but I think it worked quite well: BERYL Thanks. Sorry, only the m...

Re: Contacting Agents

Hi ActingMad26! First of all, you are NOT emailing in vain. I'm not saying that you're definitely going to get representation, but I got an agent last year even though I had no professional experience, so it does happen. I STILL haven't got any professional experience, but I've had lots of auditions...

Re: CTA

There are so many different, better, and potentially less costly ways to get representation for your child. I agree with pg and bruno, it just sounds so dodgy. I was rehearsing for a play at a place in King's Cross the other week and there were CTA auditions going on in the building next to us - the...

Re: Where should i look for acting work for my son

These are good free sites which you can sign up to and then apply to those jobs which you think suit your son: http://www.mandy.com http://www.talentcircle.org Or if you're happy to pay then there's also: http://www.starnow.co.uk http://www.thecastingwebsite.com http://www.kids.castingcallpro.com (<...
