Re: confusion between different boards

Ds has just done IDTA Advanced 2 ballet. His teacher switched syllabuses from RAD to IDTA when he reached Intermediate as she felt IDTA demanded more step knowledge/vocabulary at that level which helped those auditioning at Intermediate level. I guess if her pupils had been auditioning for colleges ...

Re: Wilkes academy/Millennium

Wilkes academy has been getting favourable mentions in the industry. All I know is that Stuart Harvey, who teaches on the drama side, is also an associate director for YMT-UK. He directed my son in Macbeth at the Edinburgh fringe last summer and was brilliant.

Re: Life after MT courses. Any success stories?

Moleseymum thank you for posting. I was very interested when (I think it was you?) you told us about it as he was auditioning in the summer. My ds is bearing it in mind if he ends up taking a gap year. Has your ds had any trouble with security since the Paris attacks?

Re: Harry Potter coming to West End

I see they have announced the cast for the grown up Harry, Hermione and Ron http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-35149864 I am delighted they have gone for colour blind casting and given Hermione to a black actor. I have ranted on NAPM before about more needing to be done about it in the Wes...

Re: Boys Ballet

Although they aren't ballet, it's always worth keeping an eye on the Matthew Bourne New Adventures website for workshops and opportunities. This is what happened to one boy who did The Lord of the Flies show (where they took loads of trained and untrained boys and gave them workshops and then used s...

This looks interesting stacey. I've read your first blog about your thoughts following Paris and wish you well with it. You might find a better section to post the link in though as this one is for stage reviews - maybe try General Conversations or Look Out For?

Re: Auditioning for 2016

Sorry for being a bit thick but what do you mean by character and legit songs? I could have understood it wrong but I think legit means it is a pure musical theatre song written for a musical, like a Rogers and Hammerstein number (not a pop derivative musical like Mamma Mia). I think charact...

Re: Conference on Mental Health in Drama Training

I can certainly applaud you MTAonline for the impact and reputation the Stage award you, which I have been following over the last few years. I can see you are about pure training for the profession. You do what it says on the box - no qualifications necessary and effectively none given - it's all a...

Re: Auditioning for 2016

Welsh Mum we haven't looked at London because of the huge costs of accommodation that the student loan doesn't begin to touch but aren't the fees higher at Mountview and Central as well or are they still £9000?
