Oh that's interesting 2dancersmum, there's so many things to be considered!
Katymac i've given the thumbs up 'like' button, i wouldn't have known where to start fitting everything together so cleverly. She does have amazing hair I can imagine it does take getting used to when dancing.

Re: Anybody ever been to a premiere?!
Many many years ago we bought tickets for the premiere to Shadowlands in Newcastle, and I thought that just meant the night it was released. So after a day a work I travelled in to meet hubby for quick bite and to do a bit of grocery shopping. We arrived at the cinema to find a small gathering, cue ...

Re: The Casting Website
NYT and NYMT are registered charities with full boards and patrons. NYFA is a registered company founded and run by one person. I don't know what requirements exist for a company to call itself Not For Profit, or if it matters.

Re: School permission - How long does it take?
I was thinking about this today. Because of a website & email address change we missed a couple of emails from last week and we all worried about what the parents would think. We try to respond within 24 hours, not least because so much happens every day anything not dealt with quickly will be l...

Re: School permission - How long does it take?
It may be the new Head had no idea of the urgency (& will probably be struggling to do everything else), but this is important for your son's future. Might be worth ringing to say you're coming in today to explain about it all - be nice, parents often talk to me like i'm not human even as their ...

Re: Extras Agencies
It does seem to be normal to pay a fee to join an extras agency, I assume this is to stop timewasters.
Good luck with your exams in the meantime!

Re: Casting Director workshop - York - August 2014
I'm certainly better at selling York than Gateshead. The best thing about Gateshead is the Angel, (hence my choice of username :D ) which the council organised and got arts funding for, then suffered a barrage of criticism from everyone. Until the football shirt went on, when it became a source of l...

Re: Casting Director workshop - York - August 2014
Because of other events we have to let this one pass Cookycrew, which is a shame because it does sound good. Dd thoroughly enjoyed the last one and is keen to return. For the distance we travel a full day is preferred but I could see from your email why it was half day sessions. Will you be in the s...

How on earth do you get the child license sorted that quickly?!francescasmum wrote:We heard at 7:30 on Friday evening that DD was filming on Monday afternoon. So it's not too late, don't give up yet!
Re: BFG film
Oh, we are at Stage 2 of that - auditioned with script last Thursday and was filmed. My DD saw this CD last year for a CH4 sitcom and got down to last 2. When we went most of the other girls were very small compared to my DD who is 4 ft 11 and not the least bit tomboy (according to character breakd...

Re: Good Headshot Photographer
You will notice advice about headshots having to look like the actor which i always thought was weird until a recent trip to see a play with 3 male actors. All different ages, build and hair colour, acting in a studio theatre just a few metres from me. I spent the whole of the interval trying to mat...

Re: How do you manage dance school demands and auditions?
My DD was lucky enough to be cast as Dorothy for their (after school) theatre arts school xmas show. Realising DD may possibly be offered work as an extra at some stage during the 3 months of rehearsals or the shows, her teacher cast another girl too for them both to split performances. DD then got ...

Re: School mums
I feel your pain. I'm sometimes tempted to start a blog if it was allowed. I was given the exciting news this week that a new series of the Walking Dead is starting - by a 9 year old. Yes, he watches it too. Yes, he knows it's for 18plus. Yes, his parent is one who has complained about the 'ridiculo...
