Re: Fort Boyard auditions?

Audition day is fab, lots of teamwork, swimming, heights. Parents get to hear about how the filminh works. Make sure you have a passport with at least 6 months and a LONG birth certificate - the child license for abroad is via a judge at westminster so they need these handed over at the audition. Do...

Re: 15 reasons why drama school is harder than law school!

I particularly enjoyed the 'debate' with the author vainly trying to say 'it was tongue in cheek' in amongst the vitriol. People do need to calm down a bit sometimes (she says, thinking about work tomorrow 8-[ )

Re: Days off School

The 10 days was a national entitlement which has been abolished for both state and private schools. It was intended to cover family holidays but now everyone is told they should book holidays out of term time. Whether parents get charged £60 per child per parent per week depends on the school & ...

Re: permission refused. is head mistress being unreasonable?

The Head of the school i work at supports performing and sporting opportunities without question. Her reward is for some of the parents to do outrageous things which i can't discuss publicly, or happily tell everyone they don't care their kids are falling behind because they have their future filled...

Re: shrek tour

I saw Joseph on tour last year and felt sorry for the kids. The adults were working intensely hard on their performances, while the children spent nearly all the show sitting motionless at the sides with a bit of singing and occasionally hand clicks etc. DC said it would have to be that limited beca...

Re: Bonnie and Betty

My DD has just done a fantastic one-off piece of work via Bobe (we are not on their books but they were advertising for a specific job). I knew at all stages what was happening, they were sorting out arrangements during the weekend too, and i found them very fast and efficient. Their twitter feeds s...

Re: How long between dance exams?

Suzysue is right that idta has had significant changes recently. In DD's case the teachers won't put them in unless they will get good marks, but they spend a long time doing teacher's programme of dance at the grade level and then it is a sudden burst to learn all the dances etc for the exam. Usual...
