Re: Newbie: audition for Ghostwriters
Tashadavis, If your agent has asked you to do the self-tape, they might well get very ticked off if you don't bother sending one in and then they might drop you or not bother putting your DS up for anything else. In my experience, if you sign up to an agency, then you are agreeing to do the audition...

Re: Independent Castings Query
Personally I think you should always let your agent know what you are doing, also if it is the right agent they will be happy to see your DC getting as much experience as possible and very importantly can protect you from non-payment or unacceptable terms. I would always hand over or at least get ad...

Re: Jobs outside of London
If you search for Spotlight in this forum you will find lots of information about it, I only say this because it has been discussed quite a bit recently. Spotlight is the industry standard and is what the Casting Directors and Agents use, Mandy and Starnow are very watered down versions of it. You p...

Re: Spotlight question
(Adriana1312 this is a copy of a post I put on about this recently) Spotlight is an electronic noticeboard where casting directors post jobs and all the agents then get a notification that pulls up their most suitable clients and they will then send this off to the casting director. Spotlight is the...

Re: Asking your agent to submit you?
Holly K you cannot view as a parent, the only reason Jellybabies can see is that he/she is on Spotlight adults and adults can see what is available (and the postings are general and include all adult/child jobs as they are quite often looking for both on the same job posting i.e. parent and child). ...

Re: Dd is giving up!
In my ideal world (and at the moment we are about 8 years away from having to make the decision) I have always secretly hoped that DS will go to Cambridge and study a non drama subject and then join footlights - I think it is a brilliant idea.

Re: Spotlight when you’re up north??
Hello Loladd33 Spotlight is one of those things you really do have to have wherever you live if you are with an agent. Basically it is an electronic noticeboard where casting directors post jobs and all the agents then get a notification that pulls up their most suitable clients and they will then s...

I know a few people with them and they are very happy, I think the lady who runs it is very committed and approachable. I do not know whether it is connected with Tring Park School, I had not heard that.

Re: Children with behavioural issues
Just something I saw this summer, so talking from that point of view. My DS went to a Dance day, there were 3-4 boys who just had no interest in being there, it was the parent who saw it as a good place to leave them for a day either because it was cheap childcare or because parent wants them to do ...

Unfortunately SammyAri, the tape may be perfect, but like in an audition, if you are not the picture they have in their mind, they will move on. It is tough out there
