Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

I wonder if Bird realise (or care) how unexciting it is to receive their letter as we just know it’s either going to be a no or reserve list, think most places are given out on the day. Don’t get me wrong, daughter was over the moon at being on the reserve list but they must miss out on some sensat...

Re: Creative Kidz, TTA, PD Management?

Hi there, I’m after some advice on the following agencies, Creative Kidz, TTA and PD Management. My DD is auditioning for all three and it would be great to hear from anyone who has any experience with them. Thank you. Hi My DD was with Creative Kidz and I thought they were great. She only left as ...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

My DD has an unconditional offer for Bird MT degree and we are looking for advice on accomodation . She is currently in halls elsewhere so would prefer a private flat/house share if possible and preferably walking distance to college . Does anyone have any advice on where is good - we are in Yorksh...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Know how the dip in confidence feels! DD had her first audition yesterday at Bird and came out saying everyone is so much better than her. So difficult watching them being hard on themselves, think DD realises this year she has to get something as she said she won’t audition a third year. Can’t see...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

She's disappointed as thinks it means she's not good enough. Do people.get in off reserve? Read last years forum and only 2 who were I could see didn't get offered? Tell her not to be disappointed. I must admit although frustrating I think they are doing it fairly. My DD did some of the open day to...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

I wish these colleges would give some rough ideas of rent costs on their websites, Universities have costs in the prospectus’s. It’s so hard if you get offered a place somewhere to then find you can’t afford to send your child there. Thank goodness for this blog do the colleges’ job! I think part o...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Can anyone suggest the nearest hotel/guest house to Bird College for audition day - nearest and best value I’ve found is the Travel Lodge - 11 min walk to Bird - Thought I’d ask before booking :-) Hi I live in a Sidcup and DD goes to Bird. There’s a Premier Inn at Sidcup Station, literally 2 mins f...

Re: Auditioning and 18th birthday celebrations

It’s not always all over by Easter, so many variables and differences in colleges. Plus you haven’t said which ones you are looking at. Why don’t you postpone the NYC trip and go and celebrate once offers come in and she can relax properly? We didn’t plan anything when DS was auditioning for colleg...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

To anyone contemplating the EDA sixth form, it's not for the feint-hearted but in my opinion they offer the best BTEC in the country. Some NAPMs will remember when we were considering the BTEC/ALevel routes and I received a terrible text from a "friend" which really ruined the excitement ...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Letter came from Bird, reserve list for degree. She's happy with that as most of her friends from college have the same. Get Xmas over then on to the next! That's a great attitude for your DD to have. My DD is 2nd year at Bird and says they've changed the way they seem to be doing it for the last c...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Just a quick update - my DD was/is on the Bird reserve list but has now started at The Arden Theatre School in Manchester. I have to say that the college DOES choose you - Arden wanted my DD 2 days after her audition, Bird's reserve list hardly moved this year. My DD is LOVING Arden, in college 9-5...
