Re: RBAPA Agency
RBAPA are bracknell based but seem to audition in London. They have a Saturday drama school and also an agency. I know a few people in the classes and they are all very hard working and talented kids. If you're just interested in the agency and not the classes, then they require parents to attend ce...

Re: Transporting by chaperone
Thanks for the replies. DS's drama teacher says she knows a couple of people who could help. I also asked my LEA but they couldn't give out any info. They suggested contacting local theatres/drama classes and ask if they'd pass my details onto their chaperones. I am just going to see how it goes and...

Transporting by chaperone
Hi, I've not posted for a while, but I have been "lurking"! Ds is loving the local theatre productions he's been involved in but is really keen to take it further. He's always asking about film sets and West End work. All that's holding us back are my work commitments. We live an hour's tr...

Re: Chaperoning
Thanks for all the replies. I do feel a lot better now! It is Peter Pan - as far as I know there are 8 in the junior chorus (lost boys) which are 4 boys and 4 girls; John and Michael and a senior girls chorus. I guess I'll get a bit of a feel for it at the rehearsals. I am actually quite looking for...

Chaperoning
So far, I've managed to avoid chaperoning. However, my DS has got himself a chorus role in Panto (yeah!) and parents are required to chaperone a certain number of rehearsals and performances. So I am in the process of applying for a licence. I realise how desperately they need chaperones, but how ca...

Re: What age is the right age?
I agree, that legally, the money is probably your DC's at 18 anyway. If she's sensible though, then she'll let you look after it til she's 21!

Re: Twitter
I will definitely start following. I've only just started on twitter in the last couple of weeks. I hardly follow friends, just theatres/directors etc, so napm is gonna fit in well. I'm getting a lot of strange looking names following me. I'm going to have to work out how to approve people before al...

Re: LAMDA exams
My DS(8) decided, when he dropped his rugby club, that he'd like to take up Lamda. We thought it would look good on his CV when applying to University - my oldest DS had very little in the way of extra-curricular stuff on his application - even though he's studying biochemistry, lamda and music grad...

Re: Nervous Tics
Thanks for all the advice. I really like the idea of diverting it into less noticable movements, such as toe curling. Nobody else has mentioned it to me or ds either, but they may just be too polite. riverdancefan, no we haven't taken him to the doctor's. I was really hoping it would go away of its ...

Nervous Tics
Ds (aged 8 ) has always been a really keen performer. Over the next few months he has 3 local theatre productions and a big part, including a singing solo, in the school play. He's really looking forward to all this but is quite nervous. Although he loves to perform and picks things up very quickly,...

Re: Ann Koska/Sally King-Help?
Hi - Could anyone with any info about this agency please PM me? Someone from the agency approached me about DS and if we did sign with an agent, it would have been AKSK because: - They are highly recommended by my son's drama club. - They provide transport to location, and although they are 45min fr...

Re: Spend a Day at Redroofs Day School
Sounds fantastic, but I'm not sure i'd be able to drag my son away. I'm afraid that with finances as they are, it just wouldn't be fair to show him "what he could have won"!

Re: Child star worries
What a lot of great advice and opinions. Thanks to everybody! It has really given me a lot to think about. DS really loves to throw himself into everything he does and i know he would get a lot out of the experience. It would be incredibly inconvenient for the rest of the family, but I like wizzymo'...
