Re: Auditioning for 2017
Boys do get it easier, no question, but through no fault of their own, the colleges make that decision to make sure that they have an adequate number of boys on their courses and statistically boys have a better chance of 'making it big'. I often see posts from all colleges congratulating their boys...

Re: Auditioning for 2017
My son tells me it’s called ‘penis points’  A boy and a girl at exactly the same level in all disciplines - the boy may get the ‘yes’ because he’s a rarer find than the girl - I get what he means so I do get your point Robin x all I wanted to add was my son has worked really hard and h...

I think there is a place called Chester House that some of the Urdang students use.

Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018
I think as others have said to those in a similar situation it comes down to whether or not you/DD want to take the risk and go through the whole process again next year in order to try and get another 3 year offer. Only you/DD can really answer that, but having followed your journey I think I woul...

Re: Times article - MT degree fees challenge
Also ..note the pathetic comment left about "do you want fries" So sick of the ignorant people that know nothing of what these young people are doing in their training and how hard they work. The skills they get are very transferable and they work damn hard and harder than many other stud...

Re: 14 year old wanting to start acting?
If it's straight acting she's after, maybe she could look at NYT (national youth theatre). There are some threads on here about that. Trying to find an agent age 14 is tricky as even if she managed to find representation, nine times out of ten at an audition, a 14 year old would lose out to a young ...

Still waiting to hear from Hammond :( Oh no Marissa! I have been checking in each day to see if you had heard yet - how frustrating for you and your DD! ](*,) I hope that you get some resolve today and that the Hammond can let you know one way or another We are done auditioning this year after the ...

Can her college give her some advice? Do you know which agents get invites to the showcase?

Re: Living in London 18+ and acting opportunities
Personally I'd go with the GSA offer. Plenty of people would snap your (DS) hand off for a place there. Plenty get rejected, there's one on another thread only this week. It's also funded via student loans, unlike Fourth Monkey where you'll have to pay for the course plus living costs. I know someo...

Re: Auditioning for SEPT 2018
I think me and DS might as well just treat the audition day to GSA as a day out as he doesn't have the grades - oddly takes the edge off the nerves! And not having any nerves may make your DS relaxed and he does an amazing job, which wows them, and they lower their grade boundary for him. Fin...

Re: Training at 16 or 18 ?
It's a tricky one because maturity levels vary so much and only you know how mature your daughter is. The only concerns I would have is firstly she will be socialising with older students. Would she cope well with this if they all go out and she can't go because she is underage, that sort of thing? ...

[quote="Felicity" There is a section about fees in the About Us section of the PPA website. It says: “3 Year BA (Hons) Performance in Musical Theatre - £9,250 per year, extra activities £1,250 per year.” and “Extra Activities – Musical Theatre £1,250 per year for the following: Extra prof...

Hi my DD has been lucky enough to have been offered a place on the musical theatre degree course at MPA. I am interested to hear peoples’ views on this college. My DD loved the audition and loved the friendly atmosphere there :) My DD is currently in the first year of the degree course. Feel free t...
