Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Did anyone go to the CDMT conference held at Mountview on Sunday? It was a really informative day and all the top colleges were there. We learnt a lot and I had thought I was already well researched. Applications going in this week for 6 colleges. It seems quite quiet on this forum compared to last ...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Hi Daisy, I have been through this twice now with my DD so hopefully may have some useful feedback. Before applying we made a table containing all the places she wanted to apply to with application deadline, entry / audition requirements, fees, funding routes (eg if eligible for a student loan etc)...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

Hey all, just a bit confused about applying for different places! Some are through normal ucas (Chichester, GSA) some through ucas conservatoires (Trinity Laban) and some just straight to the colleges is that correct? Feeling a bit overwhelmed about where to start! DDs sixth form college has loads ...

Re: Seeds of doubt now

My brother did musical theatre training and has done 17 West End shows. He went to Laine. He did an acting course at RADA last summer and has just completed 100 shows in The Mousetrap and some TV work. So it’s totally possible to transfer from MT to straight acting roles.

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Laine do indeed already offer the degree option in the third year. Friend of DS gained his last summer at the end of his third year along with his diploma, whilst another friend gained hers at the same time but the year after she graduated (with the Diploma). They were part of the first cohort. You...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Thanks. That’s interesting to know. Yes we have no
Idea how we are going to help her fund this hence trying to research the options thoroughly now. Good luck to everyone. I’m following with interest. I do hope she has a chance of getting in somewhere!

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Well it’s not really that far ahead when she will be applying later this year! And we are looking into options including open days and easter school at the minute. I have had a lovely email back from Arts Ed and if they get offered a place they can pick which to do (same course just pay a small fee...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Not sure if anyone can help or if this is the right place to post. DD will be auditioning for sept 20. I’m a bit confused by some of the funding and course options. Some of the colleges she looks like she would be better off applying for a diploma and some the degree. It’s a bit hard to tell which w...

Hi sorry missed these replies and messages. Yes I just applied for the scholarship through the stage. In the end hubby has booked an Airbnb to take her in Chiswick.

Arts Ed Stage summer school scholarship accommodation

My daughter has just been given a scholarship to go to a West End summer school at Arts Ed but there is no accommodation. Has anyone’s children done this before and can recommend anything??
