Re: What to do with academic Dd?!
In exactly the same boat with dd who is in year 9. He has chosen to audition (it’s a way off yet) for arts ed and Tring at 16 as you can do Alevels and MT. Otherwise he will continue with associate courses-Auditioning for opportunities such as YMT/NYMT and getting in as much dance as possible to be...

Re: What to do with academic Dd?!
Hi there . We are in a similar situation . My DD is in year 11 and about to do GCSEs for which she is predicted high grades . She has also auditioned this year and has an offer from Bird. We are still undecided about whether she should go now or wait til 18. Having said that we are not so concerned...

Re: What to do with academic Dd?!
My dd is also in year 11, academic and has been offered a place at Bird. If her heart is in MT, as is my dds, I think she should go with that. Otherwise you/she will always be wondering what if. At 16 my parents and careers advisor dissuaded me from my dream and I said I would never do it with my c...

Re: What to do with academic Dd?!
If the private route is something you are able to consider then look at places like Abbots Bromley School. You can do Academic A levels, plus BTEC’s in Dance or Musical Theatre alongside Vocational Dance and/or Musical Theatre. They offer scholarships and bursaries and you can board full time or we...

What to do with academic Dd?!
Hiya all, My dd is in year 10 and is extremely passionate about musical theatre... but is also academically gifted. She wants to go to a performing arts school at 16, but I am concerned about her future potentially being damaged! She is predicted high grades in her GCSEs and has said that if she doe...

Dd is giving up!
Although Dd loves drama in particularly musical theatre, sings, dances and has taken Drama GCSE - she has come to the decision that she is not going to pursue an acting career. She has decided to pursue her love of English Literature as she wants to study at Cambridge. It is bittersweet as so much o...

‘Beauty’ Pageants
I am very sceptical about this but 15 year old DD is very keen to enter one called Britain’s Junior Miss. I said no last year however I am thinking that she is of the age to make these decisions and be able to take criticism if there was any! Anybody got any personal experience, advice or opinions? ...

Re: West End Calling Competition
Isn’t this run by the same people as TeenStar and Open Mic? Dd got through to regional round singing an original song but we and she felt utterly ripped off. We did get some feedback but it was things she’s already gaged herself! If it’s run by same people I wouldn’t do it!

Re: Scream Management?
Realised after I sent the message my mistake - for some reason I thought it was based in Manchester! So if we joined PG would we have to go to monthly Casting workshops like at Ology? X
