Re: September 2015

Good Luck to you all - this was us last year and it makes me feel nervous reading your updates  We did Feb auditions so we could get mock GCSEs out of the way in Dec then concetrate on auditions then back to full revision for GCSes after Easter - my dd has nearly finished her first term at Lai...

Re: I've started my new spreadsheet/Audition survival guide

Good luck Katy - to you and your dd! I'm guessing "later" audition means post xmas and will ensure she gets the most benefit from Pre-Voc before her audition? She will know what to expect this year so hopefully that will give her confidence too - will she be doing colleges from last year -...

Re: I think we need a plan C

Katymac - they will not think she is no good, they have already seen potential in her or would not have taken her on Pre Voc - I understand Performers have a really good success rate on their Pre Voc course and the fact that she was offered places last year on full time courses should be reassuring,...

Re: September 2015

Absolutely agree with Caroline and dancersmum - statistics are scary reading but someones going to get those places it may well be your dd/ds ;) My dd was lucky enough to go at 16 but some students in her year are over 20 so don't be put off, enjoy all the experiences and learn from them, once they ...

Re: First few weeks of MT/Dance/Drama college

So pleased to hear all our dc settling in well - it was a long journey to get them there :) dd is in her element at Laine, tired like the rest of them but couldn't be happier - she is lucky to be living at home so has not been homesick, the downside being that she is not able to socialise as much an...

Glad all has gone well Kate - I'm sure your dd will be buzzing by this time next week and exhausted too! I tried to pm you last week but it wouldn't send??? Dd had first day at Laine yesterday completely loved it but completely overwhelmed too - the realisation of living her dream :) Ds is off to Un...

Good Luck to you all - hang in there its a bumpy ride, loads of info on here, dd off to Laine next week, happy to help with any questions  We opted for Jan/Feb auditions but only did Laine and Urdang where you can more or less pick your dates - that way dd got mock GCSEs out the way in December...

Good Luck and thanks - 2014

Just want to wish masses of luck and happiness to all of our dc who are off to start their new adventures at Colleges/Uni's over the coming weeks - Brit School have already started! I am lucky that my dd - who is off to Laine - will remain living at home but my ds is moving away to Uni (not performi...

Re: Comparison between Bird & Urdang

Hi afab - will your dd be auditioning for Diploma or Degreee or both? Can't offer much advice about differences between courses as my dd is only just about to start her Diploma at Laine in a few weeks. All I would say is keep an open mind, audition at them all, see what you are offered and go with &...
