2littledancers wrote: Wed Jun 15, 2022 11:41 am Nope , didn’t do this with my eldest either for the last 3 years . Is that because she has only claimed the basic ?
Yes, if you are only claiming the basic then you don;t have to submit any parental income details.

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

She’s 0 hours. She has to have a meeting with a work coach every so often (which she schedules for her day not in college) but as long as she is consistently working the minimum it’s fine. She earth slightly less last week but that was because she was off sick a couple of days and that was ok. If sh...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

My daughter has just managed to get Housing Benefit via Universal Credit for a non accredited postgraduate course but it’s not easy. To be eligible you have to fulfil the Claimant Commitment. This means either committing to seeking work for 35 hours per week and taking a job if offered (not possible...

Re: Sad news about ALRA

That could be good for students because as an awarding body rather than a validated degree students will be entitled to apply for the full amount of student finance.

The website says they are in talks with Dept of Education about getting DaDas transferred.

Have a read and see what your thoughts are. https://www.bruford.ac.uk/rose-bruford- ... r-courses/

Re: Sad news about ALRA

So fortunate that Rose Brufford is in a position to step in and help some students at least, Can’t help thinking it would be good if Manchester School of Theatre at Man Met could do the same. Rose Bruford's website says that they are going to use the Wigan premises to teach the ALRA North students.

Re: Sad news about ALRA

I know several ALRA graduates. They were more straight acting, they didn't do MT or dance for example.

I'm glad that we currently have an arrangement to pay dd's fees monthly rather than termly. If the worst were to happen the most we would lose is a month's worth rather than an entire term.

Re: Sad news about ALRA

Alra like Arts Ed and Mountview charged top up fees for their degrees. Feel for their students (and parents) who have paid out and are now left looking for somewhere else. Students and parents are saying on social media that fees were due and paid on 1st April (last Friday). The first working day a...

I know we've been here before with other schools but I always feel gutted for any students involved when I hear of a drama school closing

That’s fantastic for your Dd too. I’ve sent you a message.

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Based on the fact that the kitchens have proper washing machines and my daughter's experience of poor, expensive hall laundries I think he'll sava a fortune on that alone! Another fantastic piece of news though, he's been offered a place on the NYMT creative mentoring scheme. He applied to NYMT last...
