Re: Auditioning for 2016

Nextinline, the course your DS is doing sound just the sort of thing my dd would be interested in, what is it called and where is he doing it? She is currently writing a musical on the lines of We Will Rock You and American Idiot based on James Blunt songs. She is really enjoying and showing a real ...

Re: tvc casting

fingers crossed, get all your paper work to the agent as quickly as possible because they often pencil in a few children, then the job goes to the one who is ready to go quickest (in our experience)!

Re: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang auditions

DD wanted to audition for Jemima as soon as she heard this was coming to WYP( we got some initial info month ago) but is 4'10" so too tall for Jemima. Leeds is 50 minutes away and she's been a sewer kid before so whilst she fits the brief for those roles we were not thinking of going for sewer ...

Re: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang auditions

Hi everyone, although this is starting in Leeds, an 8 week run, it is them apparently going on tour! The WYP (West Yorkshire Playhouse) website states so anyway! Unfortunately dd is too tall! But is going for White Christmas around the same time locally anyway so not too disappointed. We got an e-ma...

Re: Drama Degree at Uni or Drama School?

I pretty sure I read on here (probably years ago now) that UCAS point gained from music exams can not be counted towards the requisite total required. Therefore, if for instance, you needed AAB, you couldn't say it doesn't matter if they get ABB because they already have ...UCAS points from their gr...

Re: dissertation topics/ideas

how about looking at 'modern' Musical interpretations of old stories, such as Lion King/Hamlet, West side Story/Romeo and Juliet, whilst we are on the subject of Shakespeare, hadn't realised they were all Shakespeare until this one popped in to my head! Kiss me Kate/Taming of the Shrew.

Re: Dance summer schools SW London / Surrey

My daughter is definitely an actor, then a singer, then a dancer. She struggles to pick up movements in the first place, i.e. at her group MT lessons she can not always 'see' how a move or transition is done, however she is often the only one who remembers the sequence/order e.t.c next week. Her exe...

Re: Where to buy West End tickets from cheaply?

If you are close by you could go to the theatre and ask if they have day tickets, we have done that several times when we have been staying in London and got 1/2 price front row tickets!
