Thanks, all. It is really helpful to hear that others have felt justified in turning down castings for reasons similar to mine. Good to know it's OK to trust my gut feeling.

Thanks, swanny. I have sent a polite email to the agent setting out my concerns and indicating we'd like to decline this one so as not to waste anyone's time, and hopefully that will be fine. He's just started rehearsing for a production in the WE (not MT, and just a short run) - first proper theatr...

Singing teacher recommendations (London)

I'm looking for a singing teacher for DS (9), who has a good voice but needs help with vocal technique (before I tear my hair out trying to help him prepare for too many more auditions!). He already sings in his school choir (which is quite a high standard) so am not looking for group singing classe...

Snap, Humph! DS went there for the first time today as well and had a great time. Lovely buzzy atmosphere and everyone we met was very friendly.

Can definitely recommend it.
