I was just thinking the same thing. My dd has just joined a ageny in the north east, she got a casting the day after she joined and have heard nothing since even though she said she was prepared to travel. I thought she may have had at least another one, its only a small ageny mind, and she didnt ask to meet her or anything before she joined so am beginning to wonder now.

I would not trust an agent who takes on children with out seeing them. When I was looking for another agent even though my ds has a very good cv been in a soap as a regular the agency who took him on wanted to see him, as do all the best agencys.

DD had a seriously slow start to the year, but since the middle of the summer hols it started to pick up and she worked quite a bit, and the last couple of weeks have gone mad for some reason. She has an ad this week and a filming next week plus two singing engagements coming up. Never rains but it pours.

I asked our agent if it was just us or if it was quiet only yesterday! She confirmed things are slow at the moment.
Really?

I've found things have been really busy for me! From February to August I only had 2 auditions, but since September I've had 5! Plus they've all been in really quick succession, like 3 in one week and then 2 one day after the other. I guess thay're a bit like buses - you wait ages for one and then they all come at once! But also I'm in London, maybe that makes a difference?

Wow! You have been busy! Are you with a london agent and are already established, if you are lucky enough to live in london I Suppose it will leave you at an advantage as most castings are there even if it was filmed in the highlands lol! Its a shame that 3 northern dramas recently were axed.:-(

Its also down to your age group. I know the 12 -15 is a difficult time and lots of competition too !

Yes I am with a London agent, but not at all established, I haven't had any professional work yet, just lots of auditions! But I suppose it must be very different in London, because for things like adverts etc, even if they're not filmed in London (which they often aren't) they very often prefer to audition in London because that's where the c.d.'s and company headquaters etc. are based I guess.
Which Northern dramas were axed? Hope you get aomething soon anyway Harry! :)

Hi harry2 my ds will be 14 this week (and nearly 6 ft) and it is a difficult age for castings as it is so easy to have a 16 year old who doesn't need a license to play a younger teen. We too live outside of London. My ds has coped with this by doing lots more training and in the last few weeks more auditions have started to come is way again. Our advice would be to use your time wisely and keep up with schoolwork as well as any other classes you do so that when your time comes you will be ready. Wishing you luck.

Thanks v much for the advice guys, the dramas that were axed were heartbeat (my friend had an episode lead in this) the royal the royal today blue murder and a touch of frost so thats 5! Scary. Im 18 and have left school but play younger 15/16 and its true that they see people that have no license for some things depends on the cd like in hollyoaks the teens are older 20+ tina o'brien on waterloo road I think if you have a unique look eg red head or freckles you get seen more possibly
